Lady Lee, I do as much shopping online as possible. Almost everything I buy for Christmas gifts comes from the internet. I buy books online rather than go to the library or the bookstore. I buy my clothes online (when I buy new clothes.) I also keep a very detailed grocery list (I write down everything as it gets low so that I won't miss anything when I go to the store) and do once a month grocery shopping. When I get back from the grocery, I put away everything that is perishable and then go to bed. I put away the dry goods over the next few days.
Regarding cleaning, here are some things I do. On days when I'm more miserable than usual, I tend to lie on the couch and watch TV. On those days, I get up and do some kind of chore during every commercial. That way, I'm only active for 2-3 minutes and then can lie back down for 10-15 minutes. I also do as much as possible while I'm sitting at the dining room table and have my family bring things to me for me to do. When I take my shower, at the end, I take my washcloth, put a little SoftSoap on it and clean one of the walls. Sometimes it's one of the three shower walls, sometimes it's one of the sides of the tub itself. At the end of the week, the shower stall/tub has been cleaned and I start over.
Also, I have a combination of hardwood and Pergo floors. In the morning, put a bucket of clean hot water with a cup of vinegar in it at each end of the house. As you walk through the house, drag your mop with you. Then put it in the bucket at the other end of the house. When you go back to the front of the house, drag the mop back. This requires two mops, two buckets, and lots of training for your family to get this right! But then the heavy traffic areas stay clean and it's much simpler to do a thorough weekly mop (which I delegate to my cousin).
I used to cook in large quantities. However, my family just snacks it all away and I have to cook again the next day anyway. So I do things like cook 9-10 pounds of hamburger at a time and freeze it in 1 pound batches. (They're too lazy to thaw out meat and eat it!) Can't help on the food, sorry.
Oh, the boys love to eat sausage for breakfast. I do cook several pounds of sausage patties at one time, freeze them, and then nuke them for them in the morning for sausage sandwiches. They love those for breakfast.
