Dearest White Dove... peace to you! I do not know if you truly are in Greenland (avatars are sometimes "joking"), but if not and you are in the U.S., the following might be helpful, particular starting with Question 4:

    http://www.ada.gov/qasrvc.htm

If you are in the U.S., you might consider contacting the Justice Department (the number is at the bottom of the document) and/or an attorney (call the Bar in your state) and inquire about filing a claim.

If you are not in the U.S., you might be able to check your country's laws (since you indicate that you know what occurred is a violation of law) by Googling "Service Animals in Public Places."

I hope you are in the U.S.

    Regardless... peace to you!

    A slave of Christ,

    SA

I hear you. I have my pajama days too. But I do find if I make the effort I wind up feeling better. I might be more tired but I feel better. Go figure (Lady Lee)

    Very true.

    A Guest,

Thank you:) I'm so new to outright discrimination of this sort that it has me rattled. I'm in Phoenix, Arizona...AKA: New Greenland lol!

I was wondering what some of you do to make life easier?

My biggest thing is cooking in larger quantities. I made a stir-fry yesterday and there is enough for 3 meals. If I have to do all that work I'm going to make it worth my time.

Cleaning is a real challenge since I can't be on my feet for very long so the floors get done one bit at a time. Got some ideas for me?

    A Guest,

Thank you, again! He violated numbers 4 and 9.

He tried to segregate my dog to the outside.

He tried to take on a responsibility that wasn't his, namely the safety of the dog during busy happy hours.

I copied and pasted to a word doc. and saved and printed it out to show him.

He was a cocky bastard, but now I'm armed.

Lady Lee, I do as much shopping online as possible. Almost everything I buy for Christmas gifts comes from the internet. I buy books online rather than go to the library or the bookstore. I buy my clothes online (when I buy new clothes.) I also keep a very detailed grocery list (I write down everything as it gets low so that I won't miss anything when I go to the store) and do once a month grocery shopping. When I get back from the grocery, I put away everything that is perishable and then go to bed. I put away the dry goods over the next few days.

Regarding cleaning, here are some things I do. On days when I'm more miserable than usual, I tend to lie on the couch and watch TV. On those days, I get up and do some kind of chore during every commercial. That way, I'm only active for 2-3 minutes and then can lie back down for 10-15 minutes. I also do as much as possible while I'm sitting at the dining room table and have my family bring things to me for me to do. When I take my shower, at the end, I take my washcloth, put a little SoftSoap on it and clean one of the walls. Sometimes it's one of the three shower walls, sometimes it's one of the sides of the tub itself. At the end of the week, the shower stall/tub has been cleaned and I start over.

Also, I have a combination of hardwood and Pergo floors. In the morning, put a bucket of clean hot water with a cup of vinegar in it at each end of the house. As you walk through the house, drag your mop with you. Then put it in the bucket at the other end of the house. When you go back to the front of the house, drag the mop back. This requires two mops, two buckets, and lots of training for your family to get this right! But then the heavy traffic areas stay clean and it's much simpler to do a thorough weekly mop (which I delegate to my cousin).

I used to cook in large quantities. However, my family just snacks it all away and I have to cook again the next day anyway. So I do things like cook 9-10 pounds of hamburger at a time and freeze it in 1 pound batches. (They're too lazy to thaw out meat and eat it!) Can't help on the food, sorry.

Oh, the boys love to eat sausage for breakfast. I do cook several pounds of sausage patties at one time, freeze them, and then nuke them for them in the morning for sausage sandwiches. They love those for breakfast.

Wow, St. Ann! I'm not bothered so by a disability like that other than laziness, and your tips actually sound helpful to lazy people, like myself.

I'd rather not cook 3 times a day every day.

I'd rather not clean my shower top to bottom every...year.

Imagine watching TV without the guilt!

I love your ideas! They could help everyone!
