Dear Night Owl, I think your attitude is fantastic. It's very "evolved", if you see what I mean, and I admire that. Although I imagine that's an inborn tendency in you, I'm also sure you've worked hard to develop it, and the results you are reaping are well worth the effort: peace of mind and heart and the capacity to look ahead without the burden of the past. Although of course some circumstances make it easier for some than for others to achieve that inner wellbeing, I'm sure you are in a position to help some to attain it as well. Thank you very much for offering your selfless help.

ziddina,
How do you know what I have or have not experienced in the Org? What specifics have I shared other than my intro? Do you know if I am married? Do you know if I have children? What do you know? Was I treated kindly, or harshly by those in the Org? I do know what it is like to be a Jehovah's Witness.
By the way, as you and others come here to "help" each other, do you hold those same high standards for them as you do for me? When someone tells you this or that, do you require a Masters Degree from them?
mouthy,
With all due respect to you, do you see what my comments brought out of you? And you say you have no resentment? By the way, I didn't say "get over it", I said maybe I can help some DEAL with it. You, or anyone else "getting over it" is not up to me, it is up to the individual.

"How do you know what I have or have not experienced in the Org? What specifics have I shared other than my intro? Do you know if I am married? Do you know if I have children? What do you know? Was I treated kindly, or harshly by those in the Org? ..."
So, have you experienced the pain of watching a relative die, due to the "no blood" rule??
Have you striven for justice when a paedophile runs rampant within the Kingdom Hall, only to be told that YOU are the problem and that YOU will be disfellowshipped for speaking out about the presence of a dangerous sexual predator amongst the unsuspecting Witnesses with children?
How long were you at Bethel?? How high a level did you achieve? When were you there - pre-1975, or post-Ray-Franz?
And so on...
"By the way, as you and others come here to "help" each other, do you hold those same high standards for them as you do for me? When someone tells you this or that, do you require a Masters Degree from them?"
Duuuuude, I don't hand out free advice with the intent of "helping" people... I've been "on-board" long enough to discern who has good advice, and whose free advice would generally be worth what one pays for it... While we're on the subject, there are at least two people active on-board with at least a Bachelors' degree in psychology...
What degree - if any - do you have???
Then there are those - like Mouthy - whose life-experiences are equivalent to a college degree in living... Such people are older and wiser than I... I have the good sense to realize that... And when these people dish out advice, even tho it's free, I listen...
I would advise you to do the same...

After I was "ousted" because I don't believe
Jesus came invisibly in 1914. They taught my loved ones I was the devils tool.
So of course they obey the False prophet ....How many did YOU separate by false teaching?
Grace GoughMouthy, one does not need to lose family in order to feel pain and loss. Do you think its easy for someone to wake up and realize that the things they hoped for will never come to be? We all have pain and it is not your place to judge the degree of someone else’s pain, you can't possibly know how much another person aches! Second, the heart wants what the hearts wants, yeah the Watchtower endorses shunning but they are not 100% responsible for your family shunning you, if your family cared enough about they would do whatever it took to be with you. Third, how many people have you separated from their families by encouraging a course of action that you KNOW will cause them to be labeled apostates and be shunned by their friends and family?

Whooops...
There's one now...
Another JW apologist...
The edicts of the Watchtower Society created the situation, Lola28, not Mouthy...
It's the organization that hands down the 'rules from on high' that all obedient JWs are expected to obey... OR be shunned, which amounts to a 'spiritual' death...

Slow your roll Lola,
if it's that hard on some to wake up and realize that they been lied to
then maybe it's better for them to stay asleep. ain't no shame in that,
everybody can't cope on their own, and how dare you to post that bold
ass lie about the WTS not being responsible for her family shunning her
you just lost your damn credibility. And Mouthy never said anything was easy,
you suggested that.

Yes Lola,
some need to be told how much toilet paper
they can use when they wipe their ass.

Welcome to JWN, Night Owl. I think you're confusing resentment with outrage. The same child molestation and domestic violence I suffered while under the control of the organization 20 to 30 years ago are the same child molestation and domestic violence that is being suffered in the organization today. Faces of the victims change, but the place remains the same.
Both of my abusers are in good standing with the Watchtower. They can freely associate with the family I lost.

Welcome! I dont have resentment. may I suggest a book that its written out of love? Crisis of Conscience, I think it will help you clarify many things and will answer some questions, it was written by a former member of the Government Body. I think you will enjoy it
