And of course this passage holds some weight ;)
John 14:6 , "Jesus *said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me."

John 14:6 , "Jesus *said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me."
Jesus said directly to the apostles, "this good news". What good news? It was the same good news that Jesus preached and the same one that he had previously sent them out to preach.
I like this -->
The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed, to preach the acceptable year of the Lord
This is all good, and you are all talking about the ransom, the price paid for the sins of the world. I read about the ransom in the teach book, the WT has said nothing different. However, are we not to be followers of Christ, preaching salvation in his name, observing all he taught and teaching others also? The writtings of old are examples to us also, and the writtings of the apostles have many instructions, and warnings. Consider Romans, should we keep on sinning that grace may abound? God forbid. Romans 6:1 I really don't see the WT teaching anything other than the same good news, however, they include, as they ought to, the whole message, so that people can become mature, continuing to have more and more freedom from sin, and having more love for one another. Where did they fail in showing love? I need to know? Are the people in this forum interested in telling others about something far greatter than a cure for cancer? It seems many here may have given countless bible studies from the teach book but forgot just what it is they are teaching. There is a road leading to life, only Jesus can take us to the end of the road, without out him we are lost, I have been taught nothing else from the WT publications, yet why do ex-JWs find that they teach a false message?
Btw, Wannabe, how is it when David calls Jesus Lord is he David's son at the same time?
I am not a JW, I would not be allowed baptism anyway, I am a smoker and an alcoholic.
I had my time with Chistendom, I found their answers lacking, even false, and I found a lack of direction.
Livingbreeze, the JW message is not of Jesus- it is to come to the organization for salvation.
:What Is The True Gospel Message?
To spend the rest of your life selling ever-changing books.
(You mean that isn't the right answer? )

The WT, or rather, Jehovah's witnesses in general will all say the same thing, salvation is through Jesus Christ, not the organization.
I thank God they taught me the truth about death and hell! I thank God they taught me the truth about God's purpose for the earth and of the 144,000 annointed, who will rule as Kings and priests under Christ, while Christendom thinks all Christians are Kings and priests and are going to heaven. I always ask them who will live on the earth.
Either join Christendom, get back to the preaching work commissioned by Jesus, or just keep bashing the Jehovah's witnesses.
I have the 2005 cd library, and I know for a fact the WT points to the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation, and they themselves as proclaimers of that good news.
Answer just this one thing, "What shall we do from now until the end?"

My reply: But their actions belie their words- you must go through the org to have a relationship with Jesus.

My reply: Back up your assertions as to what is true with scripture. Otherwise it is simply a baseless assertion.

My reply: Many Christians preach the word. The JWs do not- they preach false prophecies of the WT.

read Posting Guidelines point #1.
Your insult does not make a point at all, and that is the sort of thing that would cause me to want to listen to you?
You have made some valid points there. I would wonder what you believe about the condition of the dead, who are the 144,000, what is God's purpose for the earth and mankind, do you believe while being mortal, we have an immortal soul? Do you believe God's punishment of the mortal wicked is never ending torment?
The WT does not make prophecies about the future, they only attempt to understand the prophecies already written in the bible, the things God has already said would happen.
I forgive your insult, bible study would be so much easier face to face. Do you have the WT cd library?
Livingbreeze,
I have the 2005 WTCD. You made the following claim:
The WT does not make prophecies about the future, they only attempt to understand the prophecies already written in the bible, the things God has already said would happen.
Please review the WT prophecy that the generation that saw the events of 1914 would be present when the end comes. They have since changed this prophecy twice. Specifically, the masthead on page 1 of each WT up till 11/95 said that it was "the Creator's promise of a peaceful and secure new world before the generation that saw the events of 1914 completely passes away."
Did the creator promise that? The Wt now admits he did not.
You have made some valid points there. I would wonder what you believe about the condition of the dead,
Man has a soul that lives beyond the body
who are the 144,000,
Jews
what is God's purpose for the earth and mankind,
for man to ultimately live, where New Jerusalem will be
do you believe while being mortal, we have an immortal soul?
Yes
Do you believe God's punishment of the mortal wicked is never ending torment?
hell
My question to you:
On what basis do you claim that the governing body of Jehovah's Witnesses is God's sole and direct channel of communication to man?
