I truly feel sorry for this individual. What happened to the idea that each individual is part of the body of Christ and that they each have seperate functions but they are all important? If the body of Christ to them means the different part of the same organization, why all the necessity for them to perform the same door to door function?

I have asked my husband why do we send people door to door who truly cannot speak or who do not bath and smell really bad and my husband response is Jehovah said he could make the rocks cry out so he is using everyone.

My wife comments on how well dressed and well mannered the witnesses are when they do door to door work. She compares and contrasts what they do with what those 'scraggly little Christians' of The Potter's House church does, comparing their dress and mannerism to the witnesses. Since those kids of the Potter's House dress in jeans and may even wear tattoos, they do not present a 'good image' for representing God.

I have to remember this video and your comments, LITS, when this comes up again.

Even though it was only two minutes, it ws too painful for me to listen even half of it. I don't know what the speaker's problem is, but it's not funny posting this on YT.

A stuttering Brummy - could only happen in God's own country and God's own Organisation!

I agree with garyneal. Some people don't have certain gifts (i.e evangelism, speaking, basketball). So why are ALL made to feel like they have to exercise all gifts.

I'm actually proud of this guy for having the guts to do this even though he has such a hard handicap. He may be wrong in what he has learned and taught, but he has some guts that I wish I had.

"...Some as evangelizers..." That's what the Bible says. But the Society - the publishing company - says different, so people clearly unsuited to do the work have to get out on the streets and push those magazines too, or be seem as weak and treated like second class citizens.

He probably hates every second and feels deeply humiliated. It probably feels like torture. It will probably destroy him eventually. But he has no real choice.

    Sick.

This fellow exudes sincerity. I cannot mock nor deride his actions. I too would stand silence in awe of his courage to expose himself to ridicule. What he did there, millions of JW's are not willing to do without a speech problem, express thier faith from the heart. If he isn't a shit and really is what he seems I say why not? Many could learn from such dedication. Too bad he is stuck in the life sucking cult.

Since this 60ish man has delt with this problem all his life, it probably isn't as uncomfortable for him to do this as it is for us to watch it. I'm sure that a certain amount of the householders will listen out of politeness and admire his courage. Others may have been going about their day and been quite taken aback after encountering something so compeltely unexpected at their front door.

I'm curious why the camera was rolling and why, although they must have seen the cameraman the witness went along with it. I think there is more going on here than meets the eye.

the video description sums it up. 'Funny jw stuters' while moaning about the woman not helping him.

he's entitled to do his presentation without someone butting in just cos hes taking longer to say it all, so kudos to the lady with him for not patronising him by jumping in to finish sentences or make him look incapable. as exwhy said, he's a grown man and as dan says he's to be admired for his determination, not ridiculed.

describing him as funny.. that says more about the person posting the video. especially as the person they are mocking at least has literacy on their side.

gonna go have 2 coffees now, cos its kinda pissed me off.

At least he was talking quite fast and you could understand him. I was asked to work with a sister once whose stutter was so severe that we literally stood in silence for minutes at a time while she just kept repeating the first letter of the word she was trying to get out of her mouth. It was excruciating. She didn't go on the preaching work much for this reason but wanted to take part on this particular day so the elders asked me to work with her. If I had butted in and taken over she would have been absolutely mortified so I just had to stand there casting sympathetic glances towards the bewildered householders. She was a lovely lady, but I'm glad I wasn't asked to work with her again, I don't think my nerves could have stood it!
