PS I Love You
Another good one! I balled my eyes out on that one too.
Can't believe I forgot this one:
Grave of the Fireflies.
And in a similar vein,
Barefoot Gen.
Strange enough, no one mentiond this so far :
Mystic River
Tie between Laddar 49 and Marley & Me - Not the entire movie - but just the gut wrenching parts.
Marley & Me especially as a person who loves dogs.
Strange enough, no one mentiond this so far :
Mystic River
I forgot about that flick. Another movie where I hated the ending. You know by the end of that film, I hated Sean Penn's wife. That flick really had a twisted ending. The Woodsman with Kevin Bacon is a similar film. Its messed up too.
The scene of the old guy at the graveyard thinking back always makes me tear up in "Saving Private Ryan".
I'll have to agree with Tatiana about "The Notebook". That was a sad movie. I was surprised it didn't come up sooner.
A few other movies that I found to be sad for various reasons:
The Bucket list
Cool Hand Luke
The Boy in the bubble- (John Travolta before he was a big star)
and I know there's others but most of them have already been mentioned by others so no sense repeating them.
Sling Blade
I'm starting to tear up as I paste this.

Everyone needs a "Karl" in their life sometimes.
The saddest most depressing movie I ever see was the movie Johnny got his Gun the movie is about a world war 1 solider who has his legs and arms blown off by a mortar bomb shell. He is inside into his own mind which becomes his own personal hell.Thar movie will have you rethinkng the whole purpose of war. That movie if he does not depress you must have a heart of stone. That movie in the end made me sad and angry and made feel like this insanity we call war wll never end.
