Well it could happen. Didn't R. Franz have some quote that he wrote about doing research yourself to prove the truth?
Who knows? Maybe another one will drop out? You never know...
Were they doing this before, this often, every few months, and I just didn't notice then? This is some pretty bold stuff. It seems like there is a specific tightening of the noose going on here. Hopefully, it will result in more people waking up.
They have become bolder in the last 2-3 years. I intend to document some quotes and post these up so we can see that they really are ramping up the "GB/FDS worship". I think they're afraid. The internet has exposed who they really are and they can't cope with it. What they should really be afraid of is that the older JW's will die without enough new ones able to carry the torch.
One of two things will happen: They will either restructure and form a much smaller cult. Or they will disappear. Here's hoping for the latter!

Or they will disappear.
Before they do that I want all my money back.
Just a thought has anyone ever tried to get their donations back from the Borg or from their congregation?
I do not recall The Watchotwer talking (harping) about the FDS and the GB and their authority so much!
Now seems like it is in every issue of the magazines that they are mentioned!
Has something changed in recent years within the Watchtower organization?
The Watcthower magazine today is not like it was when Russell was the editor!
"The Governing Body publishes spiritually encouraging literature in many languages. This spiritual food is based on God's Word. Thus, what is taught is not from men but from Jehovah."
This "reasoning" is incorrect.
(From the Wiki) A categorical syllogism consists of three parts: the major premise, the minor premise and the conclusion.
Premises:
(1) The Governing Body (a specific group of men)publishes spiritual encouraging literature (food) in many languages.
(2) This spiritual food is based on God's Word.
Conclusion:
(3) Thus, what is taught is not from men but from Jehovah.
This "reasoning" is typical of the propaganda material published by The Watchtower.
The GB now consists all part of the celestial crown'd, in ray's book he makes a quote that these people that make part of the 144000 now in the GB (last revision COC 2002) are not necessarily more qualified for this task than someone that is not part of the 144000. I wonder how many people in the GB have a scholar level of understanding.
Well the more they keep digging that hole the harder it will be to climb back up. When internet didn't existed if they made a mistake they could get away with it and start all over again but not anymore.
The "score keepers" back at Headquarters are just throwing this tripe out there to see how entranced their followers are. An ongoing process.
"... the hypocrisy here is a little TOO obvious... makes me wonder if the writer is actually intentionally mocking the GB/FDS in print... "
Noooooo, Agonus, unfortunately the Governing Body is just waay too full of itself - themselves?? - to see their own hypocrisy...
That's a major source of the insanity within the religion, in my opinion... In fact, that belief that one is "special", and "above" the rules applied to 'normal' humans, is a fundamental reason that cults become so bizarre and dstructive, IMO...

In 2000 they printed
Awake June 22 2000 - "Do Not Be A Victim of Propaganda!"
"Ask questions: As we have seen, there are many today who would like to ‘delude us with persuasive arguments.’ (Colossians 2:4) Therefore, when we are presented with persuasive arguments, we should ask questions.
First, examine whether there is bias. What is the motive for the message? If the message is rife with name-calling and loaded words, why is that? Loaded language aside, what are the merits of the message itself? Also, if possible, try to check the track record of those speaking. Are they known to speak the truth? If “authorities” are used, who or what are they? Why should you regard this person—or organization or publication—as having expert knowledge or trustworthy information on the subject in question? If you sense some appeal to emotions, ask yourself, ‘When viewed dispassionately, what are the merits of the message?’
Then they print in the Sept 2010 WT , what VM 44 posted above. As an exercise in the misuse of "logic" it is textbook. Anyone applying the first steps of critical thinking would dismiss it...They would dismiss it if anybody else said it !
They have set themselves up as God's spokesman. Nobody else in the world has even suggested it . What can they show us as evidence that they are speaking for God?
A Worldwide ministry? - The Mormons have done it bigger and better...They will say "But that is not the Kingdom Message that WE preach " Of course not!, because they have made up their own unique message, so nobody else will say the same
A Loving worldwide community? - granted they do not go to war, but do the facts support a community noted for love of neighbour? Ask any unbiased person and judge the response.
No...THEY have claimed a grand title of "Gods Servant feeding the sheep", so as they advised in year 2000, we view it with the skepticism that it deserves....
