Report: Nordic Nations Are Best for Gender Equality

AOL News (Oct. 12) -- Which countries have the greatest equality between men and women? Look north.
For the second year in a row, Iceland topped the World Economic Forum's Global Gender Gap Report.
Nordic nations took four of the five top slots in the report's rankings. Iceland was followed by Norway at No. 2, Finland in third place and Sweden in fourth. Denmark was seventh.
"Nordic countries continue to lead the way in eliminating gender inequality," said Klaus Schwab, founder and executive chairman of the World Economic Forum, according to the BBC. "Low gender gaps are directly correlated with high economic competitiveness. Women and girls must be treated equally if a country is to grow and prosper."
New Zealand came in at No. 5 in the report, which measures gender equity in the areas of politics, education, employment and health.
Other countries in the top 10 were Ireland at No. 6, the tiny African nation of Lesotho in seventh place, the Philippines in ninth and Switzerland at No. 10.
The United States jumped to 19th on the list, a big leap from its No. 31 slot in 2009. Sponsored Links
"The climb reflects the higher number of women in leading roles in the current administration and improvements in the wage gap," the World Economic Forum said on its website .France, which lost a number of female ministers over the past year, had the biggest fall -- from 18th place in 2009 to 46th place this year.
The United Kingdom was ranked 15th, the same as last year. my mom had a friend whose son at 18 came out of the closet, within a few months they were evicted.
I had a witness sister that evicted her "lesbian" tenant, after she claims she saw her kissing a woman through the windows.

Um..... I wouldn't complain too much. Currently, men in the US have the bigger problem with unemployment. In addition, Nordic countries can be very repressed about sex - oddly enough - unlike Canada or the Netherlands which allow some freedom for the regulated sex industry.

Kinda, sorta, not widely advertised, as far as I know. In Canada, prostitution is technically legal but everything connected with it is illegal, so it's a mess that still pops up in their court system.
In the Toronto area, certain kinds of massages are legal and escort services can be legal, too - but must be discussed indoors. There was a case in which a hooker was arrested and the judge let her go because she was willing to do anything but adamantly refused to negotiate outside of a building (i.e. 'the street').
I'm not an expert (nor a consumer of these services). You Canadians, please correct me....
