So you weren't old enough for this one but you still want to whip the witnesses with it? That just shows your prejudice black sheep.

You are not a very good researcher Debator.

Click on my profile and you can see what year I was born.

I was 16 years old when they started spewing their 1975 garbage. How old were you in 1967????

How many of those brothers who sold their homes in 1974 are still surviving on the proceeds from their homes, Debator????

All Watchtower BS contains loopholes for its speculations. Even your new double generation doctrine isn't stated as a fact. The WT slips in 'evidently' as a loophole, but all the good little Dubbies slurp it up as fact and spew it out to their children as fact, and it is treated from the pulpits in your churches and grand boasting sessions as fact.... and when it become evident that it wasn't a fact, they'll come up with another speculation as to what was 'evidently' meant and you'll suck that up and call it The Truth and shun your own child if she doesn't slurp it up and believe it with you.

In the lead up to 1975, the emphasis was on the speculation ... now the emphasis is on the loopholes. The fact that the WT writers are as cunning as a robbers dog in the way they promote the Governing Body's speculations isn't great evidence that the WT was ever chosen to by Jesus to be God's mouthpiece.

While we're on the subject, I've pieced together a pretty comprehensive 1975 document, containing scans, references, copy/paste articles from WTLIB (many references and scans came from you guys) so statements can be read in context.

I'd like to get constructive criticism on it before I present the information to my somewhat-receptive brother for his review. I've considered removing ALL of my own comments so that he can see it with his own eyes and not be "influenced" by my view. What do you think?

In regards to 1975 and the WTS. it was just one of their devious marketing strategies to get people to buy and sell

(door to door work ) their publications, many fell prey to this disingenuous commercial marketing,

even to the point of suicide to overtly sensitive minds and hearts.

This is just a part of the corruption of this religious publishing company.

Corruption and religion go hand in hand, but it still offers men power and control of both huge amounts of money

and the control over peoples lives, than otherwise never would have been posible.

It might be better to just ask him to explain ONE quote, rather than throw the whole trash can at him.

    Showing everything:

    1) IDs you and the document as Apostate, and gives him a reason to brush it aside without having to think about anything that was in it.

    2) Gives him the opportunity to cherry pick which article he is going to comment on. He will pick the one with the most loopholes and ignor the rest, using the excuse that showing him the one he chose, proves you are just nit picking/looking for faults/etc. and demonstrates that he doesn't need to look into it any further.

Never give a Dub a choice of subject.

Black Sheep, I absolutely agree with you if we're talking about a typical JW. My brother, though, seems to be primed for reason and I think he could use some clear evidence or a pattern of BS from the WTBTS. He knows I'm already getting the apostate label but I think he can see that I'm not evil and that I'm seeking truth. (He certainly seems to.)

He's been the most reasonable elder I've yet to talk to so I'm willing to take a last chance with him before I'm DF'd on Tuesday.

Debator must have just fallen off the pumpkin wagon.

HE wasnt a JW in 75 and he's not a JW now playing on the puter on this site.

If the JW's knew he was here they would thow his fanny out.

He's probably some pimply faced 12 year old.

Or hes some old fart with alzheimers.

Any ways I graduated in 71. The whole time I was in school junior high and high school they talked

    about 75.

And they also talked about how worthless and missleading a school education was.

When I graduated in 71, two elders came and talked to me my mother and

said I should not go to any school after high school because I would never graduate and would be

    wasting my time.

I saw one of the two elders in the 80's and he denied having said that.

I told him you deny it because you got yourself a good education and job and your embarresed

about the predicament you put me in.

THe Jw's are good about shaming and bullying the flock to do things then when the birds come home

to roost, when the situation goes south they like to talk about individual responsibility,

and you are a big boy you can make your own decisions, you didnt have to listen to us.

Yah but if you dont listen, you will loose your family and all your fairweather friends.

The kingdumb hall is run by the elders supervised by the circuit servants and if the elders were going around

tellling people the end is coming and dont go to school thats as good as Brooklyn doing it.

Its a mikey mouse outfit, a mikeymouse organization, elders are basically loosers getting off on bullying

    anybody who listens to them.

Even if 75 wasnt an offical teaching, that just shows how slimy and slick this out fit is.

Because they used 75 to drum up business and recruit a new batch of fools.

The Watchtower specializes in destroying evidence of all their official teachings.

I should have realized that back in the 70's when they would not allow any magazines or books

from the 30's 40's and 50's in the library.

Thank you for those that have posted watchtowers to show that 75' wasn't an official teaching for Armageddon but the 6000 year date since Adam.

Over-enthusiasm happened to many witnesses at that time (I have never denied this) but sensible people noted the cautionary points in those articles.

To add anything more is just to be repeating myself.

Exageration, conspiracy theories and emotional manipulation from hearsay are poor debating tools.

You shouldn't talk like that about yourself Debator.
