we attended a CA outside our circuit* one year
and the younger 3 of my lily white snow bunnies
found a black family with almost mirrored stair-step
children who were their ages/genders, and they,
of course, as children do, became instant friends,
spending every break as a little mob unto themselves...

omg! i am verklempt with the memory! such innocence...

*minnesota 6, with 2 northern tier states with a collective
ratio of about 4.5 african-americans/100 in the general population...
so not a whole lot of representatives in the circuit and none
in the KH's rural population on the shores of lake superior, so for
my kids that encounter was once in their (then) lifetimes!
