I am pleased to see you AGuest ...I was thinking about you only today and hoping you weren't too hurt by some of the negative posts you've received. It interests me that you've quoted from Ezekiel 34 which I find to be a very significant chapter...

Thank you, dear Loz... and peace to you! I wasn't hurt, but I was frightened... for some who I care for/about... and for myself that I, too, might sin with my tongue and speak against them. Praise JAH... for the fruit of His spirit that is love... and long suffering!

Dear, dear Inkie... do not let your heart be troubled over these comments. Truly, they are not worth your ardor... and I am okay, truly! Is it "tough" dealing with them? Yes (although not as much as those who claim to be of the Body... they cause my heart and spirit to grieve the most, unfortunately... because of THEIR lack of faith. These others... well, it is expected. It's one thing to carry one's torture stake while "Romans and Jews" are jeering on the sidelines; it's another thing entirely when professed disciples are doing so, as well. But, heck, those before argued among themselves, too, didn't they... and Israel has ALWAYS taken exception to those sent to her, so...)

BUT... not to worry. I am not doing it for myself but for the One that I love. For him... it's nothing. At all.

    I bid you both peace!

YOUR servant and a slave of Christ,

If he wanted to be called anything other than Jesus Christ, he should have put it in the bible. Where'd you get this Jahesua Mis... crapola anyway?

    Hiya Shel!

:he reminded me of the TV movie "Roots." Based on a true story, the epic followed the life of a young African man name Kunte Kinte. To those who KNEW him... his name was "Kunte Kinte." To those who LOVED him... his name was "Kunte Kinte." To those who gave birth to him, called him son, called him brother, nephew, grandson... his name was "Kunte Kinte."

That is probably not the best analogy. Alex Haley and his book "Roots" were positively exposed as frauds and Haley was disgraced.

With regards to names, Jesus didn't bother with any names in his model prayer when he said "Our Father who art in Heaven", so why should God object if we call him the "Heavenly Father?" If it's good enough for Jesus, it's good enough for me. There shouldn't be any case of mistaken identity of God there, should there? Following that precedent, why should "Jesus" or whatever-his-name-is object if he is called "Our Father's Only Begotten Son" or "OFOBS" for short? God has only one OFOBS, doesn't he? Hey! If you can say "Jah", then you outta be able to say "OFOBS."

Not that "he" wrote the Bible, but no need for profanity, dear Seren (peace to you!). Just open another couple/few threads. The explanations are there...

God wouldn't object, dear Daddy-O (hiya, yerself and peace to you!). Where did you get that He would??

If it's good enough for Jesus, it's good enough for me.

I think you've missed the point, dear one.... as regards the Father (who isn't the subject of this discussion)... and "Jesus."

There shouldn't be any case of mistaken identity of God there, should there? Following that precedent, why should "Jesus" or whatever-his-name-is object if he is called "Our Father's Only Begotten Son" or "OFOBS" for short?

    No, none. He shouldn't object.

God has only one OFOBS, doesn't he?

Actually, no. He has two: Christ (by "Sarah")... and Adam (by "Hagar").

Hey! If you can say "Jah", then you outta be able to say "OFOBS."

You oughta. None one saying you can't...

Uh... I ain't even gonna touch that one - LOLOLOLOL!

P.S. BTW, dear Daddy-O... apparently, Mr. Haley never claimed that "Roots" was the "whole truth," but called it 'faction' - fiction based upon fact. One source states that Haley explained that he had discovered his family's genealogy, but had 'woven' imaginary content - e.g. what the characters said - and other information from history around his family 'facts' to create a realistic narrative story." Be that as it may, my Lord's illustrations weren't always the whole truth, either, but illustrations... which is all this example was intended to be - an illustration of someone prefering their given name... over what others wish to call them. Just a way to help some "see" what was meant. If they have eyes to do so, that is...

    Jesus said:

"Again, the Kingdom of Heaven is like a man who is a merchant seeking fine pearls, who having found one pearl of great price, he went and sold all that he had, and bought it."

-and that pearl would be worth about $12.50 today-

Jesus is what is in the bible, so that's his name. If he had wanted to be called by some other name it should have been made clear in the bible. If you can't list the scriptures where his name is this Jehesua or whatever, then it is not factual.

Shelby - just wanted to tell you that I'm glad you're back. I pray about this matter, and many that you post about. But I have never professed to be one of the anointed. Only that I follow Christ, as best as I can. I have not heard this name, but I do know that Jesus is not the name by which He was called while he was here.

    Love and peace to you,

    Tammy

We are less than ants in real terms. Why would any 'one' responsible for this mind boggling achievement, care one jot how humans pronounce, spell or conjecture the name they attach to the force behind the universe?

I was thinking something similar myself Galiator. I find it a little scary to think that a timeless intellegence that created the univeral would be so petty and uptight that he/she woud get all worked up over how us little specks on this planet said their name. And would they really have a name that could be broken down into a few vowels and consonants and pronounce by us? This reminds me of the mean little god who runs the Watchtower who's all hung up on his name and vendicating it in our eyes.
