Great thread, here. Clearly, Matt. 28:18, 20 would have to be tossed out if 1914 were true. Either Jesus had all authority or he didn't, and he says that he did. If he didn't, he was lying. He also said he'd be with his followers all the days until the conclusion of the system of things. He was not visibly with them, so he had to be invisibly with them. To say that his invisible presence began nearly 2,000 years after his saying that is again, to call him a liar. "Where the carcass is, there the vultures will gather", to paraphrase him. Since when do vultures gather around an invisible carcass? Kind of hard to do.
The Society would have hope of some relevance in terms of this issue if they at least hadn't previously claimed his undeniable invisible presence in 1874, then changed it to 1914. Clearly if they had special discernment, they would have been sure of the first date and never had to change it. It's a case of saying 'There he is! No, wait, sorry, he didn't show up until 40 years later. Our mistake.'
Knowing how to multiply 360 times 7, divided by a pyramid, does not a king-priest make, sorry!
