Please define "oppressed".
When I say "oppressed minority," I mean those who have been/are being hindered from reaching their full potential by a more powerful group.

Does being female count? Women have been oppressed longer than any minority (unless you're a female minority), but women in and of themselves are not a minority.

Syl, I'm not entirely understanding your question. I will say I don't feel particulary oppressed per say. Maybe systematically screwed over and slightly envious of those born into different situations that appear more attractive than that of my own. But oppressed, hmmm, nah.
Does being 59 count? I've been unemployed for 18 months and one of the things I'm running up against is an attitude that they want younger people. Probably against the law, but how do I prove it? And who's going to want to talk to me later?
And I know, this isn't like being black, female or some other segment of society that has been put down for centuries.
I mean oppression of any sort from any sort.
Even past oppression.

Of course it counts, Jeff.
I will be 57 soon. I know.

Like rank and file Jehovah's Witnesses?
What caused me to ask this was one poster's reference on another thread to being born into a different culture, and would any of us be Christian if we were so born.
My position is that the poster's question and mine are both non-answerable.
