N.T Wright had alot of really strange misconceptions HIMSELF! He makes absolutely no sense in much of what he says. He claims that Jesus was insane and heard voices in his head when he was tempted by the devil.
Talk about adding to the scriptures!

Both Moses and Elijah were alive and well when they appeared to Jesus during his transfiguration in Mark 9:1-8
So Jesus died for us so that we can go to heaven when people before he died went to heaven anyway?

No, he opened up the way for EVERYONE to come to him and not just physical Israel. He was a sacrifice that covered all of our sins so that we did not have to sacrifice animals in repentence.

Ok, so where are the ones NOT of physical Israel that died pre-ransom?

People died and the spirit went to heaven to be with God, their bodies died and decomposed like everything else.

Where did you read this ??
People went, for the most part, to Sheol, not Heaven. Jesus descended to them when he died, preached the Gospel, and opened the doors of Heaven for their souls to ascend after him.

Did he extinguish the flames on them before preaching the Gospel, or did he just talk while they burnt?

I had conversation over the weekend with a sincere young man that claimed that every human ever living that didn't hear the gospel message and accept Jesus as a personal savior are going to hell.

They were not burning in a literal Hell. Sheol is not Hell. It is a different place.
