Why doesn't God squish Satan with his thumb? I know the Watchtower explanation, what is your Saccy?
Btw the above quote of you sounds like a premise for an anime.

The quote was from a website...forget which one...that had those passages.

Why hasn't God laid the smack down on Satan? why hasn't God Kaiboshed the adversary?

I can say the old, " in due time", but the truth of the matter is that I don't know, maybe Satan is "playing his role", maybe for God to lay the smackdown on Satan would be God exerting his WILL over another ( the free will thing), maybe kaiboshing Satan is OUR job not God's afterall, he is OUR adversary not God's.

The thing is, as the saying goes, there is no light without darkness and as much as we hate to admit it, we do tend to NEED dark to appreciate the light.

Sure, when he challenged God and said that man would not serve him if you touch his flesh...Job 2: 4

Would you call that a 'lie' or a 'mistake'?

That's no more a lie than if someone asks where Bob is and I say: "In the garage" thinking it to be true and it turns out he was in the basement.

If he ACTUALLY believed that Job would turn against god then he wasn't lying, he was simply wrong.

And if he didn't actually believe it he probably wouldn't have made the bet in the first place.

PSac, so you are taking the Gandalf/Gollum position. I can get behind that:

Human are dual in nature (though we are Triunal in totality) and that nature is good and bad, light and Dark.

God is NOT like that, but his creation is, for awhile anyways and then the creation "evolves" and becomes "like God".

BUT and this is a big BUT, the lie that Satan convinced people and still does to this day is the lie that we don't need God.
In that regards yes, He lies.

THAT is entirely opinion - I don't believe he lied about that, since I don't believe 1] That Satan exists or ever said it at all, 2] That even if he did say it, that there is any danger associated with NOT HAVING GOD in our lives.

In fact: all the so called 'Lies' that have been mentioned here, are to me, TRUTH. Satan spoke [if he spoke at all] Truth in the GoE. What he stated was factual. Man did not die as God had stated immediately. God in that case was the Liar.

    Jeff:

Genesis 2: 17 - 17 but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.”

I don't think this verse describes an immediate death.

OF course it is, that is what we are doing, exchanging opinions about Satan, LOL !

I don't think this verse describes an immediate death.

Try some other translation. . . for example: Every other translation on the planet. http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Genesis+2%3A17&version=ESV

You will find that it says: "In the day that you eat from it" (Or 'in the very day' or 'on that day')

Now if someone sets out a bowl of fruit salad in front of me and says: "Careful that fruit salad is poisoned or cursed or something, and if you eat it, you will die within a day!"

And another guy says: "Nuh uh, you won't die from it. But it does taste pretty darn good. And it'll help you poo."

I then eat it, it tastes swell, have a great BM, and then live on for another 900 years or so. . . guess which guy I'm gonna call the liar.

Even if the first guy shoots me in the head 900 hundred years later, that doesn't meen the second guy lied.

And since god never mentioned that they'd live forever if they DIDNT eat it, how do you know they wouldn't have died 900 years later anyway, or even a week later? (And since we are questioning Yahwehs honesty here, even if he DID say they'd live forever otherwise, that doesn't mean he was telling the truth.)
