How can you unsee what you have seen?

    -Sab

Couldn't agree more Sab . . . as an "apostate" friend said to me while I 'perservered' . . . "I can't unlearn what I know" . . . so I learned it too, and here I am in the disgusting mire of apostasy also. The story just can't happen and is merely further 'fairy tailing' and an insult to the intelligence. I'm a bit embarrassed for them in a way.

Ask anyone who has given an Experience from an Assembly Stage.. ...OUTLAW

Yes I have (twice), and confess to some 'license' on each occasion . . . a nugget of fact heavily shrouded in bullshit actually

Maybe we should put together an Apostate Agument 101 for all the newbies who will be turning up here when this article is studied in March...

That's actually a very good idea. Anti-Borg information is scattered across the Internet and littered throughout boards like this. It can appear like an overwhelming task to gather it all together, and for someone sympathetic to the WT and JWs it can appear like the hateful apostates are just piling on in order to make the organization look bad.

Anti-Borg information needs to be in an easily searchable, easy to find format like a single-web-page clearinghouse of information with blurbs on every ex-JW topic and links to more detailed information.

    Like this:

Topic Brief summary paragraph of topic To learn more about this topic, visit <URLs>

One topic after another until all the important topics are listed and the best and most comprehensive web pages discussing them are linked.

Ray Franz, Blood, Pedophiles, Recovery for ex-JWs, ex-JW experiences, discussion boards, 587 v 607 and "The Concept", etc.

I know one that left the WTS many years ago (before Internet), was strongly questioning the organization. We weren't in touch with him for many years and recently he contacted my brother that he went back, was so happy, that things were so much better now. ??? Well, fact is, that he has a bi-polar problem. Also, his kids became teenagers and his kids were having serious problems and now he was scared. One of his kids was bi-polar now too.

We only can think, wait till his kids start having problems in the congregation, get 'jc' meetings, get marked, get DF'd. To us, we think it will be just a matter of time. So sad that he now thinks the organization will help him. No, his name isn't "Andre."

There are JWs that like being "ruled." They somehow think it helps them. But we know, that is a lie.

My husband said in the mid 70's about 1977 he was going door to door and he called on an apostate who gave him a bunch of stuff to look at. He said he took it all back to the KH and studied and studied and studied it and he realized how beautiful the "truth" really was, all it did was reinforce he was on the "true" path and in God's chosen religion.

He is 17 years older then I am and so that happened when I was still a kid. When we got married I believed him. He had studied it all and knew apostates were wrong. I would never have looked outside if the child molesters had not moved into the hall. When that happened I was like screw you I am checking the web, I did and I guess I am apostate now.

It all fall apart once I checked it for myself. It did not become more beautiful but it just stunk like garbage to me.

Why is there such a discrepent rift between how Jesus dealt with lies, false accusations and wrong-headed thinking and that of the Watchtower Society in its advice to their version of Christian ministers?

Terry, you couldn't have said it better. If the Governing Body honestly addressed the issues rather than trying to hide the information, there could be some positive change in this organization.

Seriously, though. I think Andre is a real person. People will believe things because they WANT to beleive something, whether or not the evidence is for or against it.

One thing is for certain, JW opposers do take their stuff out of context.

Take for instance that Blondie character which posts here often and manages to always miss the correct point of the Watchtower study articles. I mean, you gotta be a special kind of stupid to 100% miss the point.... every single time! It's quite amazing really.

So if you quote too little, you are taking things "out of context" and if you quote too much, you are infringing copyright.

    Thanks, Leo - well said
