he asked if we have ever sinned against Jehovah by falling asleep at night while praying to him?

    Hell, LIKE EVERYNIGHT!

lol.........even worse is when your mind wanders off and you "lose your place" in your prayer.

I usually only do it now if I've escaped some kind of danger - like the other day, I tangled a little bit with a cottonmouth before we got loose from each other. Can't believe he didn't bite me. So it doesn't seem right not to send out some gratitude even though it's not addressed to anyone.

Or now, after reading some of the things on this board, if I need an answer to a problem, I'll say "I'll ask my lord what to do" (or Mrs. O'hara). I hope, if He's up there, He has a sense of humor.

I dont bother God with my concerns too much. He knows how I feel about everything because of our conversations in the past. But about three months ago there was some real drama at work and an exiting co-worker brought up some serious but bogus accuasions against me before he left. A meeting was held and I was interrogated for two hours. That night after work I got down on my knees and prayed to God to let this whole thing blow over and go away. Quite miraculously the next day it happened just as I prayed it would! The whole thing just melted away and the charges dropped. The co-worker left and my job and position remained intact (with actually more responsibility entrusted to me) Praying to God and getting in touch with the truth in my heart helps me to remain calm and focused and honest about all things. Laying it all out before the creator of the universe really does seem to contact the powers out there who can help.

I am a firm believer in the power of prayer.

I can't help but think of the wailing wall do they ever get an answer? Me, I don't pray anymore. About 9 years now. Nothing happened when I did and nothing happened when didn't.

Ding, thanks for the scriptures. I admire the understanding and good sense you that you have on here.

    Amen!

Stephen prayed to Jesus in Acts 7:59-60.

    Acts 7:59-60 (English Standard Version)

59 And as they were stoning Stephen, he called out, "Lord Jesus, receive my spirit." 60 And falling to his knees he cried out with a loud voice, "Lord, do not hold this sin against them." And when he had said this, he fell asleep.

And then in the NWT :(

    NWT Acts 7

59 An d they went on casting stones at Stephen as he made appeal and said: “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.”

60 Then, bending his knees, he cried out with a strong voice: “Jehovah, do not charge this sin against them.” And after saying this he fell asleep [in death].

Even where the "Lord" is clearly Jesus, the NWT corrupts the text and changes "Lord" to "Jehovah" in the very next verse.

Jesus clearly forgives sins in the New Testament but the JW is directed to "Jehovah".

Also note the insertion of "[in death]". The adding of these words is directly against the command of the Lord Deuteronomy 4:2, Deuteronomy 12:32, Proverbs 30:6, Revelation 22:18

Additionally, they sub consciously proclaim the WT falsehood of soul sleep.

    Blessings in the Lord,

    Stephen

Half of the Trinitarians think Jesus is Jehovah of the OT so what the heck! But nice commercial plug for Fundamentalists anyway

Every night before I go to sleep I say the "Lord's Prayer". Afterwards I "talk" to Jesus and pour out my heart and apologize for not living up to the things I know I am capable of. Like the Apostle Paul :

Romans 7:15 "I don't really understand myself, for I want to do what is right, but I don't do it. Instead, I do what I hate."

About two years ago when the Tuesday Book Study was replaced with 'family study' I decided to much more personal study, prayer and meditation on what I read.

Soon after, I discovered this site, Freeminds JWFacts etc., and it was an experience I can best describe as having scales fall from my eyes. The more I studied and the more I prayed, the more I realised JW's were a cult who did not have the truth and I had just wasted over 60 years of my life.

Make of that what you will

    George
