Have you noticed that the recent trolls are now claiming that if anybody drew conclusions or made decisions based on what the society was printing, it was THEIR OWN FAULT?

Kind of "we didn't force you to believe what we said or adjust your life because of it. You CHOSE to think we were teaching the end would come in <insert time range>"

You CHOSE to divorce your spouse because of something we said about porneia. you should have waited for the light to brighten. Perhaps your motives were not pure - you WANTED to be rid of your current mate, and used their demands as an excuse."

You CHOSE to believe there was no point in going to college or saving for old-age, just because of what we said - but we didn't force you, no witness would ever have been so presumptuous. ( In the original printed study on education the so called "U-turn" those who left school to pioneer without high school diplomas were called "PRESUMPTUOUS")

    Am I right??

MOST active JWs and even a significant percentage of ex-JWs reject the research of Steve Hassan.

I can only tell you that his first book described cult experience with 90% accuracy.

The mags are not written by a bunch of old farts sitting around in the boardroom. This cult is an Illuminati operation and the mags are written by master psychologists. I knew eventually they would turn it around and tell people that YOU are the ones who decided to interpret the literature that way. It is becoming more blatant now. It was more subtle earlier when they distanced themselves from the various congregations and "left the discipline matters" up to the local elders.

I wonder what trolls would say about born-ins? Born-ins really didn't have a choice.

Being born into that religion, I didn't choose anything. It was all chosen for me. It was as if I were born blind, never having seen the real world, and instead lived in a fantasy world of the WT's creation. Every mental image I had was of their making, tooled by their manipulative hands into a kingdom of hell.

Of course, when I gained vision for the first time in 30 years, I ran with it... Right out of their grasp and into the incredibly liberating world of freedom and personal choice.

The cult of Jehovah's Witnesses is filled with small-minded, shallow, ignorant, insecure people who bought the lie and to soothe their insecure, fearful mind, they can't wait to see another sucker buy it.

When a JW wakes up, realises he's been royally HAD and leaves then the trolls start accusing.

I get the same kind of response whenever I've said that I felt pressured into getting baptized, or pressured into marrying another JW, or pressured into quitting college the first time, etc. so that JW objectives could be met.

Apparently, I made the choice to do all those things. They completely discount the abominable treatment they dished out when I wanted to quit going to meetings at the age of 15, or the promise to not speak to me unless I "smarten up get baptized", or the threat that they'd never come to my wedding if I Married Out Of The Truthâ„¢, or the threat of being DFd when my college courses would have required an internship at the Red Cross.

They may as well have held a gun to my head at the time.

Scully, try phrasing it like this: "I was BULLIED into the religion/going to meetings/getting baptised..." Etc....

Nowadays, people seem to understand the potential psychological intimidation that results from bullying, far better than they understand the effects of mental/emotional manipulation - which is really just another form of bullying...

As a born-in, I was definitely forced. If I wasn't born-in, I would never have even talked to the JWs when they came to my door.
