i remember coming into the witness in 85, 86 of course 75 seemed a million years away to me then (being a young lad of 20). i did hear mention of 75 but it was always explained away in this fashion "oh a few people got excited but the society never encouraged it, it was a good thing because it cleared out those who were just in it for selfish motives".....of course that seemed reasonable to me though i did notice people did look a little uncomfortable explaing the reason for the confusion.
i suppose in ten years or so thats how 1914 will be explained away, "oh a few people got excited but the society never encouraged it blah blah"
but hey you can take a horse to water but you cant make it drink.......just so glad i got out when i did.

One of my relatives asked an elder about this, and he put together a "special needs talk" about it and totally glossed over the details. He assured everyone that it was blown out of proportion and that he was around then and didn't remember it being a big deal.

The original ideological concept was introduced by the F Franz and the rest of the big honchos in Brooklyn.
It was an inaccurate dishonest calculation ( 6000 years in total ) to heighten the WTS'S literature circulation
by using fearful provocation.
People such as myself left because we realised it was all nothing but a calculating and deceiving lie.
intellectual honesty and religious devotion are usually far apart from one and another.

According to my dad at one of the weekend meetings the person doing the discourse said at the end of his talk that the end will come in 1975, but my dad also said that the majority considered 1975 not to be a big event and some left after 1975 (this was in Europe).
