Does anyone know of any good examples of evidence that humans were around well before the JW claim, that doesn't rely on anything they so casually dismiss, like radiometric dating?

Not sure if this is exactly what you're looking, but its a start...
http://www.truth-saves.com/Never_a_Flood.php
It is specifically pointing out the reasons a global flood never happened. But if you scroll down to the bottom of the page it explains the population of the earth around the supposed flood time. As well as the population well before the garden of eden fable.
That whole website is actually pretty good, check out the other sections too.

The if you could find some paintings of prehistoric/extinct animals in a cave what would that imply?
A- the flood didn't cover all the Earth after all
B- Humans and Cave Lions , Cave Bears, Woolly Rhinos, lived together before they became extinct.- a very , very long time ago when Europe was still having an Ice age.
or-
C- Aliens from outer space painted them.

Stone spear points have been found in Woolly Mammoth skeletons in North America. -
Did Noah take Mammoths on the Ark? (JW says NO) If not then did humans kill them before the flood.? ( JWs says , Yes) Then why didn't the flood of Noah wash all these bones away? JWs- (crickets chirping) , "Uh, I'll have to research this and get back with you later"
added-- Also, if JW's say that humans killed them before the flood, then ask JWs how did Noah preach a warning to all the humans in North America 5000 miles away? I ask JWs first, if they think Mammoths were taked on the Ark and then, why not? - just to set the trap- sometimes they refuse to answer- "why do you want to know that?", they ask.

I wish I could remember where I read that the Chinese were brewing beer before Adam was created.

Thanks very much for your replies. These are some great example and though harder to dismiss than radiometric dating, alas, I think still dismissable, probably with a casual 'well, I don't really know'.
I like the tree rings one because yeah, god could have helped the ark to float but why bother preserving all the trees.
The continuous civilisation one is good but dating methods would just be dismissed.
I suppose nothing can get through to them, but I'd be keen to hear any more example you have.
Thanks again

Unfortunately, it's on a Catholic website, so your Dub might want to do some Catholic bashing to weasel his way out of it.

If you can get your hands on a copy of Death of the Megabeasts, that doco deals with the same topic. The Australian megafauna disappeared about 38,000 years ago, around the time firestick farming began.
