Personally, I never believed you were a hardcore JW. You wouldn't have posted on a sight such as this, and continued to interact with "apostates" if that were the case. Surely you can understand the skepticism of some people.

Either you were merely a troll, trying to get a rise out people, or you were a doubting JW, trying to compensate by defending the org vigorously on a forum such as this. The jury is still out. But on the chance that you are on the level, I'm glad you have seen the light.

I remember you, Bane. I remember your saying that you did not mind your kids dying for the org or something like that. Your kids being dead to you or something.

Though I was never a witness, I can kind of understand your struggle. I recall attending an old Independent Fundamental Baptist church where the preacher constantly bashed everyone that was different. Queers, liberals, smurfs, cartoon planet, even other churches that he felt 'preached false doctrines' was always in his sights. Worse, he would go on and on about how much soul winning you had to do and don't you dare stay out of church on a Sunday to watch a football game. You must be at church every Sunday morning, Sunday night, and Wednesday night. Whenever the doors are opened. It was his desire that women go to bible college and become preacher's wives. Can't listen to rock music, country music, rap music, or even Christian rock music. Christian based rehabilition methods were preferred over anything the secular community had to offer.

The preacher was a blow hard and his message was suffocating. Many people left that church.

I did not feel that kind of oppression again until I started attending the meetings with my wife.

    Welcome back.

I hope this doesn't constitude hijacking a thread, because I only mean this post, and say these things in response to your fear of your current feelings and to reassure you and comfort you in your journey. Travel it without fear!

If you check your WT cd-rom and pull up the 2/15/09 issue, you will find the following quotes (and I urge you to read the entire article so you know I am not pulling this out of context)

As a group, the slave class has established an excellent record of “following the Lamb no matter where he goes.” (ReadRevelation14:4, 5.) Its members remain virgins in a spiritual sense by not defiling themselves with the beliefs and practices of “Babylon the Great,” the world empire of false religion. (Rev. 17:5)

No doctrinal falsehood is “found in their mouths,” and they remain “without blemish” from Satan’s world. (John 15:19) In the future, the remaining anointed ones on earth “will follow” the Lamb right into heaven.—John 13:36

the slave class deserves our trust. Two outstanding reasons are: (1) Jehovah trusts the slave class. (2) Jesus also trusts the slave. Let us examine the evidence that both Jehovah God and Jesus Christ have complete confidence in the faithful and discreet slave

the slave class deserves our trust. Two outstanding reasons are: (1) Jehovah trusts the slave class. (2) Jesus also trusts the slave. Let us examine the evidence that both Jehovah God and Jesus Christ have complete confidence in the faithful and discreet slave

The faithful slave is also discreet in that it neither acts immodestly, running ahead of Jehovah, nor lags behind when God’s direction on a matter is clear.

. The slave thus deserves our complete trust.

“My sheep listen to my voice,” said Jesus, “and I know them, and they follow me.” (John 10:27) That is true of the anointed Christians. What about those who “go with” them? Such ones must listen to Jesus. They must also listen to his brothers. After all, the chief responsibility for caring for the spiritual welfare of God’s people has been entrusted to them. What does listening to the voice of Christ’s brothers involve?

7 The faithful and discreet slave today is represented by the Governing Body, who take the lead and coordinate the Kingdom-preaching work throughout the earth. The members of the Governing Body are experienced, spirit-anointed elders.

Listening to the slave class means giving our full cooperation to its Governing Body.

    Now back to my comments

Please compare the fact that the WT is describing our information from them as free of doctrinal error, and research our own publications over the past (and I will offer some recent examples as well)

We taught that Christ came in 1874 until well into the twenties.

We used the pyramids in computing our chronology, claiming it to be "God's stone momument" and not only saying that it points to the star in the constellation in the Pleiades where Jehovah resided on a particular star called Alcyone (sp?) but that the 1260 days computation was taken by computing the distance from the print factories (at a general distance of ten New York city blocks to the mile) all the way to Bethel.

Some of the early books in the Studies in the Scriptures contained the image of the Egyptian Sun God Ra on the cover, as well as the Cross on the Watchtower. (Which remained on our Watchtowers until the thirties)

We claimed that the ancient worthies (mentioned in Hebrews chapter 11) would return at the time of Armageddon in 1925. In spite of the fact they didn't show up, we built a house in San Diego for them to live in in 1929, which we didn't sell till 1947.

The Cedar Point, Ohio conventions were telling the brothers that the end would come in 1925 in the "Millions Now Living Will Never Die" talk, which was first delivered in 1918. This information is hailed in the "Revelation" book we studied a couple of years ago at the book study as fulfillment of the "seven trumpets" scriptures in the book of Revelations.

Check out the "Jehovah's Witnesses in the Divine Purpose" book we published on our own history in which we praise the "Millions Campaign" , the Golden Age, and the Harp of God book lavishly. (pgs98,99) and while you are there, check out our statement on page 110 where we assert that true worship was restored in the period of 1919-1922.

You know, if you read all the things the slave has provided to us as doctrine to be believed, the claim that the pronouncements of the slave as "being free of doctrinal falsehood" is clearly a lie.

As far as to being afraid of being an apostate, the scriptures clearly show that apostates are resurrected. (And you will find for example, as still present truth, that Solomon and the wicked kings of Israel who led the nation into false religion will most probabably be resurrected. Consider looking up ALL the scriptures referring to Sheol in the Scriptures (easy by consulting your WT cd) and you will find many examples in the 65 uses of the word of the wicked as being resurrected, including those who fought against Jehovah's arrangement such as Absolom and David's trusted advisor.

These are just a few of the HUNDREDS of examples of "free of doctrinal falsehood" teachings we have propagated. You don't have to read any apostate literature to realize this isn't the "truth". Read our own literature. It will completely relieve your remaining doubts and your fears of apostacy.

I hope this helps you, and I am so this post is so long, but I wrote it as a response to your pain and fear, and I hope it will help allay the fears of the "lurkers" who are SURELY reading the postings in response to your apology.

You should be proud of yourself, and you are displaying great humility in your apology to the board. Again, welcome back.

I'm with Outlaw and James Woods. Time will tell whether you're truly out or whether you were ever truly in or whether you were just a troll or whether you still are.

I hope the potential good that most posters in this thread see is genuine but I'm not compelled to buy into it instantly. Keep up the good work (beyond 4 mere posts in a single thread) and become a productive member of this board. Then you'll have earned some trust.

How does my wife feel? Well I never married a witness in the first place. I was in the world before I became one and had no idea how to get a witness gal. You have to have a chaperone everywhere you go and I felt I couldn't make a good decision. So I started to date a worldly gal and got her a study. We married a year later and she is still studying. She hates organized religion too. I married a very bad tempered latin woman. I don't know what it is with me and latin women. They have fire in their souls. They LOVE a good fight. I am actually considering divorcing as I can't take it anymore either. It seems as if I am getting tired of it all. The problem is is that I genuinely like some of the brothers still. Others not so much. I don't think I am ready to read the Franz books. As someone said, baby steps.

A witness ripped me off for some money and there is a case opened up against her with the elders. What to expect?

I know of one apostate from my childhood. He was a brother and of course it made the rounds that he became an apostate. I would like to know how to contact him. I don't think it appropiate if I say his name here. But If I ask the brothers how to contact him they surely wouldn't tell me.

GaryNeal, I said that because it's easy for me to say that. I don't have children and have never wanted them. My father did die though. They wanted to give him blood and I refused but he died 5 minutes later anyways AND he would have had to be transported to another hospital to do the surgery but damn them witnesses if they didn't the following year say it's ok to accept certain blood fragments. That pisses me off.

Another brother who I considered a very close friend is such an ass. He told me he won't let brothers on the platform that wear white socks...What hypocrisy! Socks are NOT what it is about. And this jackass is an Elder.

    Thanks for the welcomes.
