WTS is such a legalistic corporation and they mistrust the members and (to be fair) the members are trained to be similarly legalistic. So they throw this in because some JW's would say they groped and stroked the person through the thin layer of their underwear. Heck, they could use some Bill Clinton excuse and say there was no skin to skin because he unzipped and had a condom on. It's what WTS lawyers would do without such clarity on the issues.

He leftthe gathering at her home and missed the last train, returned to her home and slept in a completely different room. They need to get out of prying into the members' lives. I understand a Bible religion saying that fornication is wrong (not disagreeing with Farkel, but knowing how religion is). So assume the members are not fornicating unless they come forward and confess. I can think of tons more reasons that two people might sleep under the same roof- many of which don't even involve missing a train or mechanical difficulty with the car, but also don't involve sex necessarily.

Point 5. Easy thing concerning males at least. It doesn't even need to be thin underwear it could be thick jeans too. I can tell from personal experience that this is possible. When the dang is let us say excited you can have almost any clothes on and superior excitement is possible. So, actually we should have faced JC handling, but now it's so many years ago so it really do not matter. Hey, afterall I married her.

To be df for physical uncleanness is beyond stupid. Do they let the super-clean elder wife judge if another's living conditions meet that standard? Do elders that make shepherding calls now do so to verify if a place and person is clean? What about making surprised visits to make sure one is not cleaning a place just because the elders are visiting.

This reminds me of a little spot in CoC talking about the growing list of DFing offences in the late 60s and early 70s.
Ray was becoming concerned about how draconian the judicial restrictions on day-to-day living were becoming, and said as much to a GB colleague (I forget which), who responed to the effect that they were worried that if they left certain "iffy" things up to one's own concience, it would become a "slippery slope" that would lead to chaos and perdition. Ray responded by lamenting "do you not believe that enough brothers have a love of righteousness and self-control?" (I'm paraphrasing, but that was the gist). The answer, though unspoken, was obviously "no".
This view isn't limited to the WT; virtually ALL conservative individuals and groups (religious or secular) take it as an article of faith that human beings are inherently bad and thusly need to be kept on a short leash for their own damn good. Unfortunately, there's plenty of OT and NT scriptures that can be used to back that up (not many in Jesus' teachings, though, from what I could see:D).
In addition, it's also a BIG reason why the Genesis-as-literal-history meme is still hung onto like the last life jacket on the Titanic; it provides an ideological explanation for WHY humans are inherently bad. Without the Fall in Eden, a religious conservative is left with a huge existential quandary.
