Ok, when I first read the title of this thread I thought 'Yistiddy' was some kind of special bread or rice or noodle.
Then I said the word out loud and the light bulb came on!
I'm gettin' hungry just lookin' at that pic.

I actually made an amazing casserole with turkey sausage the other day. Mr Scully didn't even notice that it was healthier for him than his usual fare.

Good morning, Syl, and thanks for the deference! !
I prefer ground beef [sirloin, when on sale] and, like you, add OF oats and an egg for binding. Or rye bread with the characteristic caraway seeds for a unique flavor ... or bacon ... or a whopping ladle of unbridled cholesterol and great taste!
Have a great day !

an egg for binding.
I forget the egg every time!
Thanks, CoCo.

I add bread crumbs if I make it into meat loaf, along with the eggs, and tomato paste. I've never tried oats. I buy these really good seasoned bread crumbs, though.
I once did something like this with minced salt cod, kinda Jamaican style. Fish loaf. I wanted to put some ackee in it, but there was none available at the W. Indian market. Very good, but you have to soak the fish for a day to get the salt out.
Here's a recipe.

Thanks, Burn.
The Jamaicans also do something called Escovitch fish.
Delicious.
