Well, she wants it fancy and formal so two parties is out. Unless, of course, the witnesses want to chip in and pay for their separate party.
I think, right now at least, she is simply kicking ideas around and I doubt we will really have one. At least not this year.
I understand respect goes both ways but at the same time, respect goes both ways. I made it known, without holding too much back, that I though it was ridiculous that the witnesses would find themselves so uncomfortable around others who were not of their faith.

It also depends on the spiritual level of your wife's witness friends.
She might make a list of those who are closest friends from the hall that she would like to invite to the party. Then, have her explain to each one about the party, what they could expect, a general idea about who would be there, they will most likely understand since you are an unbeliever, and then give them the option of whether or not they would feel comfortable being invited. They all will appreciate that they were thought of and most will probably be happy with accepting the invitation, some may feel it best they not attend.
