And don't even get me started on NASCAR. . .
I can't stand NASCAR either, and I am a car enthusiast.

I grew up on NASCAR. From the time I was little going to local tracks to about the time of the death of Dale Earnhardt, I was a fan. But the last ten years has seen the sport alienate its origional fan base and try to go national and corporate. Now you've got theses squeeky clean vanilla corporate spokesmen as drivers instead of good ole tough guys manhandling a real stock car aound the track. Most of the new tracks are cookier cutter and boring.
So these days I don't even watch it. I might watch part of Daytona and Bristol is a good short track. Outside of that, I don't care anymore. I'd rather go to a local track and watch guys who race for the love of it go at it for next to no money, just the trophy.

For me, stock car racing died in interest when they stopped using real stock cars as the basis for the racers.

My DH has a friend who used to work in marketing or something for Red Bull. He was in the sports end of it, and got to go all around the world for boat racing and whatever else they sponsored, which was absolutely heaven for him. But he said the joy of going around the world to exotic sports events was pretty much cancelled out by the fact he had to make so many trips to NASCAR events, and said that no matter where he was in the country, it was absolute hillbilly hell.

I like baseball and football, don't like much of anything else.
Basketball in particular irritates me. Start both teams with 100 points and play for five minutes. You'd have the same thing. Cricket and tennis are incomprehensible. Nascar and wrestling are just stupid. The list goes on...

Broken Promises
Netball - it's a version of basketball that generally only women play.
It's a popular game that they teach in primary schools but I could never see the appeal of it.
