Sports That Do Not Interest You

Gloucestershire's shin kicking contest has to rank right up there as a stupid sport. One person kicks another in the shins until he falls down.

For anyone who has watched hockey on TV and not been impressed: you need to go to a game in person.

I'm not a huge fan of the sport, but I have to agree. It's far and away the best to watch live.

I'm a literalist. I took you for your word. Now I know better.

"Pro" wrestling is another waste of time "sport". It's theatrics.

Not interested in Soccer- er, sorry, "real football". It's a waste of a perfectly good scoreboard.

I'm a football (American football) fan first and foremost, but I've been at hockey games and watched it on TV since the 1970s.

I don't like the fighting either and I see no purpose in it. Hockey is a physical sport, with plenty of chances to retaliate short of fisticuffs. So if a guy takes you to the boards and you don't like it, you'll get your chance to do the same. I don't see why a fight is needed.

You'll notice that there are seldom any fights in NFL games. Now, I'm sure there's plenty of nasty stuff going on. But if a player doesn't like it, he will get a chance to 'right the wrong' by planting a hit or block on someone. So the score can be evened without resorting to a fist fight.

What I'm saying is that, the more physical a sport is, the LESS need there is for fighting.

The one sport in which fighting does not surprise me is baseball. If a pitcher throws at a guy's head, the batter has no way to even things up unless he charges the mound. I'm not saying it's right, but in baseball, the lack of physical contact would seem to heighten the sense of frustration in some instances.

Women's basketball, in particular the WNBA is a crime, they're pathetic. I can dig women's college hoops, as those girls play with heart even if alot of it is ugly.

Tennis doesn't interest me, but I can appreciate some of the elite players such as Serena, Nadal, and Federer. Ohh, and Clijsters(sorry Leo) There's some beautiful women playing that sport too, not to sound sexist or anything.

I hate baseball during the regular season. Watching paint dry or my toenails grow is more interesting. However, I love the playoffs and the World Series. Same with Hockey, can't stand their regular season.

Ice Skating sucks, only reason I watch it is in anticipation of seeing someone get jacked up.

And then everyone charges the field to join in, because, well, they've been bored standing in the outfield or sitting on the bench and they need to expend that pent up energy...

There is some rhyme and reason to hockey fights. It's not just fighting for fighting sakes. Watch it enough, you see the patterns, though at times it's just dumb and uncalled for, especially on the minor league level. For the sake of pure hockey, no, fighting isn't needed, but it's so ingrained into the culture of North American pro hockey, both NHL and the minor leagues, to try to ban it would probably hurt viewership and attendance. I accept it as part of the game but I know when I see other teams trying to egg my team into fighting I hope that my team realizes it and plays above it to not be caught up in it and lose men to the penalty box, especially when the game is close. But if it's two teams I don't really care about, I enjoy a good fight now and again.

With me, it's simple. If it's a team sport with the players playing together at the same time, I hate it (e.g. football, soccer, baseball, basketball, ice hockey, etc.). The sports I like are those with either individual competition (e.g. tennis singles) or individual competitors playing serially in a team (like many of the sports in the Olympics, which I like). I don't like golf tho, at all.
