"Kindly"
How often do you use that term? I'm guessing, on a average day, never.
Yet, my JW mother, uses it every damn time I talk to her. She uses the term like a regular person would use "politely" or "nice". Very annoying.
"I just did it to treat So and So KINDLY." That word is pure Watchtower speak. Treat them *kindly* and they will come. Come to what?
I. Hate. That. Word.
Oh, just thought of another:

None of us WANTED to be called these names... The Watchtower Society generated the uncalled-for ill will towards all non-confomers and questioners by slapping ugly labels on all "outsiders" and many within the congregation, too...
But I'm constantly considered imorral because I live with my long term partner rather than being married.

! ! ! Mrs. Jones! Now that is one I never heard. In the jw world I came from, marriage fixed lots of things. What is her reasoning? Does she not think it's valid because you 2 are not jW?
I would love for you to ask her to back that statement up with scripture. I just think it would be interesting.

That one is just so hateful, it was said about me,just after I left, it conjures up such a vision of rude ignorance, and accuses me of it.
It was wrong on every level at the time too. I had simply walked away from the WT/JW Publishing Corp. and GB worshipping cult, that was all.
So the other one "he has left the truth" is wrong too, and annoying, I left the Lie.
The other one I dislike is : "Fallen away".
I haven't fallen at all, I have risen up, I have been elevated, with the help of the good folk of JWN, to the lofty position of one who is now living an honest life.
The best thing would be to politely chuckle at this nomenclautre to let them know you are not playing along. The use of such terms isolates them from the mainstream. When I accept their lingo, I am acknowledging the Society's supremacy. A large part of the civil rights struggle was changing the language. colored -Negro-black-AA. Illegal alien-undocumented worker.

I will make it a point of honour that when any of the Dubs I meet, usually my own family, use such a term, I shall challenge it.
It has always grated on me since I left, but I used to let them pass just so as not to seem nit-picking, but as you point out, it is not a silly issue, free use of their pejoritive terms re-inforces their predjudices and wrong beliefs, we are not helping them to get out by being too kind.`
