You are being judgmental Dan and viewing things how you see them, rather than as they are and that is certaibly your purogative to do.

I'm sorry. I'm not trying to be judgemental. Just trying to figure your beliefs out. I guess it's because I've never talked to anyone with beliefs quite like yours. So I'm sorry if I came across judgemental. I was just thinking of how I could get to the same point, and it doesn't seem like I could go down that path. But like I said, respect to you!

there is much to learn and understand about God and Christ that is NOT in the bible but is in God's greatest creation: The Universe we live in.

And that is one thing that we definitely agree on, PSac.

Dan, its OK for us to disagree on stuff, it's in the great tradition of those that came before us like Origen, Tertullian, Augustine and many others, even the apostles disgareed about stuff.

We are free to disagree and debate and argue, isn't it grand?

And guess what? we won't get disfellowshiped for it, LOL !

We may not agree on some details my brother, but we agree on Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and on Our beloved Father and the Holy SPirit that lives within Us.

And THAT is what matters. :)

Yeah, that we do. And I reread my post that was judgemental. I said you "claim" to be a Christian. I didn't mean it that way, and I'm sorry. I was just asking how can one be a Christian and feel like the apostles fraudulently added to the story of Jesus. I didn't mean to call your Christianity into question. Just how that could be resolved in ones mind.

Are you saying that because the writers ( not all of them) and those the use the bibel claim it to be the word of God, that it should be held to a different standard than other historical books?

Psac, relative to the claims made, yes. Sufficient evidence is needed to support claims made in each historical book. But, again, I'd have to agree with these guys:

"The weight of evidence for an extraordinary claim must be proportioned to its strangeness." -Pierre-Simon Laplace

"Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof." -Marcello Truzzi

"Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence." -Carl Sagan

I don't see the need to pry for more information if my brother tells me he ate lunch with his boss. However, if he tells me he ate lunch with a giant pink unicorn, I'm going to request supporting evidence, since the claim is extraordinary. I'll also ask what he's been smoking and see if he'll share.

Bro Dan and PSac, I'll sit on my front porch and split a watermelon with you two any day.

Dude, where did you get "I was just asking how can one be a Christian and feel like the apostles fraudulently added to the story of Jesus", from ??

And what proof would be enough for you? what evidence would be enough for you?

I actually was refering to this statement about abolishing circumcision:

They went beyond the written word, they went beywond The Law of God, they went beyond the written word of God.
