I read a book a few years ago called "Man in the High Castle".

You mentioned escaping. Philip K. Dick, the author of that book, was how I learned to escape through reading. I love reading anything by him.

Go browse around a used book store, you never know what will catch your eye and come home with you. Lately I've been reading a Sherlock Holmes anthology and the collected short stories of Poe. Before that was The Oddessey. Waiting on the shelf, Dante's Divine Comedy. Anything that passes the test of time is likely to be worth reading.

    Jane Austin

You know the writer who wrote The Firm? I think his series might be good. I'm going to check them out.

Flipper: I just ordered that book. The recommendation was not for me, yet I became interested.

Mr. Freeze: I think you could enjoy "Why I Am Not a Muslim", by Ibn Warraq, though it's very much of a parallel of the experience of Jehovah's witnesses.

Also, maybe you'd like "Last Call: The Rise and Fall of Prohibition", by Daniel Okrent, "The Feast of the Goat", by Mario Vargas Llosa, and "Raj, the Making and Unmaking of British India", by Lawrence James. Also, "The Book of Imaginary Beings", by Jorge Luis Borges.

I very, very much like "Why I Am Not A Muslim". In my humble opinion, it's a great book, the kind of books everyone should read.

"Revelation - It's Grand Climax at Hand!" by the Watchtower.

...oh wait...you didn't mean books to burn....

I'm a huge Stephen King fan. But lately I've really enjoyed the Song of Ice and Fire series by George R.R. Martin.

Have I ever mentioned who much I love Taylor Caldwell? LOL Another one of her books I read last year that really got to me was Ceremony of the Innocent. I really liked the story and LOVED the way it was written. I just HATE what happens in the story!! NOBODY writes like Taylor Caldwell. If you are going to read any books, make sure you at least read one novel by Taylor Caldwell before you die.
