I swear some JWs don't believe in forgiving and forgetting. It's like a tattooed scarlet letter.

There doesn't even have to be an open accusation for you to get a Scarlet Letter. All there needs to be is rumours and innuendo behind you back for people to start shunning you. And yes, JWs don't let you live that down either. Filthy rodents...

Like everyone else, it seems, I suffered from this judgmentalism:

    White (not of our sort)

    Female (useless in cong.)

Stranger in a strange land (can't trust strangers).

    Single (threat to sisters' husbands)

Single parent (could I have conceived out of wedlock??? Kids have different last name!)

Poor (burden on cong. so they probably thought)

Deaf (see "poor" and "Female" above)

Bought 2 door car (further proof of burden in service)

So, got a scarlet letter and treated as a pariah for just existing and trying to be a JW.

Glad I was able to see this and get out.

Most JWs don't have a sense of God's forgiveness because WT forgiveness is always conditional.

The WTS controls JWs by making them feel guilty 24/7 -- not faithful enough, not grateful enough, never doing enough...

And Jesus said in Luke 7:47: "... who has been forgiven little loves little."

    Jook,

You'd think so, huh? It's just unbelievable that it takes so little to scar one's self in the eyes of these so called Christians.

Not quite.......what she did twenty years ago, is something that 41-50% of a certain demographic of people do in westernized countries.

Geez, is that all? It could and does happen to anyone.

    Can't they let anything just...go?

    Self-righteous bastards.

One thing I noticed, those that didn't like to forgive were rarely the ones that were directly hurt by the "wrongdoers sins". LOL If your husband has an affair with a sister, then I could understand if it takes a while to feel at ease with your husband or that sister. What I can't understand is when EVERYONE else walks around offended. That is the product of the community that JW's built. Everyone's business is everyone's business, in the desire to keep the cong clean. I have started a number of arguments when I've objected to these attitudes. Trust me, the ones that are busy judging and holding grudges don't hesitate to put me in my place, and of course, I then end up on their list too. So many to judge, so little time...

right all and i might add as we all already know yes we can find judgemental poeple everywhere but what makes it bad here is they go around telling everyone that it doesnt exist in them that they have holy spirit they are the onely true religion?! humm? this scripture kept running thru my mind thru this journey ive undertaken this last year and a half . i dont know its location but it goes something like " how would you know my poeple " by the love they have amongst themselves" i too never recieved that from anyone at the kh im a male and i often said to confidonts that same thing i feel like im wearing a scarlet letter on my chest. of course i had to explain that to them turns out even tho they treated me like a dunce i actually retained more knowledge from school then they did. i think when i started to realise that they were wrong and being fooled i instant grew in strength emotionally and spiritually . like i was given a mega does of emotional steroids. like that movie where the girl has to tell the magician or maze master i forgot the name . she says " you have no power over me!"and then she saves her baby sister etc. interesting tho jesus said let he without sin thow the first stone .all i know is i dont have to explain myself to anyone now . and i am very happy and that rocks!!!!!!!

Wow, you know reading that made me feel good. I'm happy for you. John 13:35 is the verse I believe you were referring to on love being an identifying mark of Jesus' disciples.
