    This could be viewed as another (concious or unconcious) manifestation of WT ideology's reported anitpathy towards children, childrearing, and related conditions.

    Sum it up;

    - they expect kids to sit still for longer than most kid are realistically able, and pressure them to conform when they're older...

    - they portray graphic End Time horror in literature specifically directed towards children...

    - they sometimes present sexuality in a very explicit (and often negative) verbal manner, which most parents consider extremely inappropriate...

    - they - for all intents and purposes - recommend remaining childless...

    - two-thirds of young people raised as JWs leave and never come back...

    There are other things, but the kind of environment these conditions foster are arguably one that is not at all child-friendly, even if it's not a concious policy decision. The result; individuals that have or like children but feel that their children won't be able to conform to the WT's ideology, will feel less inclined to join or stay...

    The evidence storngly supports the conclusion that (despite what it may say) as a social organism, the WTS - on some deep fundamental level - does not like children.

    No it is not normall for meetings to have pauses every 45 min or so. Elders meetings can go 2-3 hours with nothing breaking it up. Stupid kids... Suck it up! How u gonna survive great tribulation if u cant sit for a few hours?? Jehovah is giving you a million dollars, sorry , i mean everlasting life in a panda petting paradise!!! Sitting through a few boring meeting a few times a week, along with a few hours of FS a week, and a little bit of ostrisium from peers is nothing... Get over it, cry babies

    Didn't Jacob, when going to meet his brother, slow down his travelling group to make allowances for his children? If the GB had been in that group, they would have herded the tired children with hickory switches.

    (Genesis33:13) . . .But he said to him: “My lord is aware that the children are delicate and sheep and cattle that are giving suck are in my charge, and should they drive them too quickly for one day, then the whole flock will certainly die.

    Interesting. They expect children to sit like stautes for 2 hours. Yet when I was a MS, I and some other MS would go in the back and take naps during the meeting. We'd cover for each other. For example, if one brother had the last part on the service meeting, he'd go sleep in the back room and someone would go wake him up in time for him to give his part. I was the one who started that arrangement in my congregation. The brother on the sound system would sit and work on the accounts report or literature order while the meeting was going on. I would sometimes sit in the audience and write letters to not-at-homes and count the time, not paying attention to the meeting until it was my turn to go up and give my part.

    Why do you suppose the GB never considered adding age appropriate programs for children? I know why they SAY they don't, but I wonder if it has something to do with expense. Or maybe just the desire to indoctrinate more fully.

    They don't want the children to associate with non JW's. They don't want witnesses to gather in large unauthorized groups. It just seems like some of the greatest things about kids gathering together are squealched by the GB. I'm not sure exactly what I'm saying, but maybe some comments will help me form this thought.

    "Par 11: "i f you were thrown into prison, how many of our Kingdom songs would you be able to sing from memory?"

    I wonder how many young kids will have nightmares Sunday night?

    Par 11: "i f you were thrown into prison, how many of our Kingdom songs would you be able to sing from memory?"

    No one gets "thrown" into prison; you get "escorted" into prison. You walk in, handcuffed, with an officer on either side of you.

    If you must subject children to the meetings, avoid taking a break during the song by taking it in the middle or toward the end of the meeting. Be back to your seat by the song.
