    dear Justitia...

the word patriotism means love for country. in america we enjoy the FRUITS of a democracy. we VALUE them.

the religion of islam was drawn out of the koran and its sharia law. islam IS submission to THAT theocratic government set out in the koran.

islam does not VALUE the FRUITS of american democracy.

if you read the "preface" of the koran you will read that islam desires to enable ITS theocracy worldwide.

PREFACE (koran) Praise be to God, the cherisher and sustainer of the worlds, who has said in his noble book(the koran): There has come to you from God light and a perspicuous book.(surah 15) And may peace and blessings be upon the seal of the prophets, muhammad, who has said that: The best among you is he who learned the koran and then taught IT May the peace and blessings of God be upon him, his family and all his companions. the glorious koran is the book of God, the wise and worthy of all praise, who has promised to safeguard IT from any violation in IT'S purity. It becomes incumbent upon each and every person who seeks the dignity of this world and the bliss of the hereafter to regulate his life according to IT, to implement IT'S commandments and to pay homage to the magnificence of the one who revealed IT. This can be an easy task for those favored with guidence from God, especially those blessed by an understanding of ARABIC, the language of the DIVINE COMMUNICATION. But for those not acquained with ARABIC, their ignorance is a barrier between them and this source of guidance and ILLUMINATION. A translation of the message of God is thus a task not to be taken lightly or performed superficially. Before the reader begins to study the koran, he must realize that unlike ALL other writings, this is a unique book with a supreme author, an eternal message and a universal relevance. ITS contents are not confined to a particular theme or style, but contain THE FOUNDATIONS for an entire system of life, covering a whole spectrum of issues, which range from specific articles of faith and commandments to general moral teachings, rights and obligations, crime and punishment, personal and public law, and a host of other private and social concerns. These issues are discussed in a variety of ways, such as direct stipulations, REMINDERS OF GOD'S FAVOURS on his creation, admonitions and rebukes. Stories of past communities are narrated, followed by the lessons to be learned from their actions and subsequent fates. The koran enjoys a number of characteristics unique to it alone, some of which are as follows: 1. IT is the ACTUAL WORD OF GOD; not created but revealed for the benefit of ALL MANKIND. Blessed is he who sent down the criterion to his servant, that it may be an admonition to ALL CREATURES(surah 1.) 2. IT is COMPLETE and COMPREHENSIVE. The almighty says:"NOTHING HAVE WE OMMITED from the book."(surah 38.) In another place we read, " and we have sent down to thee the BOOK explaining ALL THINGS"(surah 89.) 3. It is a theoretical and practical book, not only moralising but also DEFINING specifically the permissible and the forbidden. The importance of understanding THE MESSAGE OF THE KORAN is UNDENIABLE., but simply reciting it with the intention of SEEKING God's pleasure and reward is also an act of worship AND MERITORIOUS IN ITSELF. God the almighty says: "so take what the prophet gives you and refrain from what he prohibits you.(surah 7.) 4. God has perfected his religion for ALL MANKIND with the revelation of THIS BOOK.. He says: "THIS DAY have I perfected your religion for you, completed my favor upon you and have chosen for you Islam as your religion.(surah 3.) 5. It is God's eternal miracle revealed to the prophet mohammad for all succeeding generations. In response to those who doubt the authorship of the koran, God almighty has challenged the most articulate ARABS to produce a whole book, ten chapters or even one solitary chapter which can be remotely compareable to the koran. but to this day, no one has succeeded in meeting the challenge of the almighty. The critics of the koran have been struck dumb by its ineffable eloquence and surpassing beauty. Say, if the whole of mankind and jinns were to gather together to produce the like of this KORAN, they could not produce the like of this koran, they could not produce the like thereof; even if they backed up each other with help and support.(surah 88.) The almighty also says: "Or they may say: he forged IT, Say: "Bring ye then ten chapters forged, like unto it and call (to your aid) whomever ye can OTHER THAN God, if ye speak the truth. (surah 13) And again: "Or do they say: He forged it? Say: "Bring then a chapter like unto it and call (to your aid) anyone ye can besides God, if it be ye speak the truth (surah 38.) 6. IT has been revealed to RE-ESTABLISH the sincere WORSHIP of God alone, without association of any partners with him. This is a book with verses basic or fundimental (of establishing meaning), further explained IN DETAIL, - from the one who is wise and well-aware. (IT teaches) that you should WORSHIP none but God. (surah 1-2.) And they have been commanded no more than this: to worship God, offering him sincere devotion, being TRUE in faith, to establish regular prayer and to give zagat(literally, to grow, to purify...the third pillar of islam. it is a definite portion of wealth which is given to needy at the turn of the year), and that is the religion RIGHT and STRAIGHT.(surah 5.) 7. IT contains a complete code which provides for ALL areas of life, whether SPIRITUAL, intellectual, political, social or economic. IT is a code which has NO BOUNDRIES of time, place or nation. "Veritly this KORAN doth guide to that which is MOST RIGHT." (surah 9.) 8. God almighty has TAKEN IT UPON HIMSELF the DUTY of preserving the KORAN forever in ITS entirety, as he says: "WE HAVE WITHOUT DOUBT sent down the message, and we will assuredly guard IT (from corruption)." (surah 9.) So well has it been preserved, both in memory and in writing, that the arabic text we have today is identical to the text as it was revealed to the prophet. Not even a single letter has yielded to corruption durning the passage of the centuries. And so IT will remain forever, by the CONSENT OF GOD. given the depth as well as the sublimity of the koranic text, a faithful translation of it into another language is virtually impossible...but...To accomplish this enormous task, a number of committees were formed, comprising scholars well-qualified both in ISLAMIC SHARI'A (law) and the english language...To implement the directions of the custodian of the two holy mosques (may od preserve him) concerning the propagation of the book of God, it distribution and translation into every language spoken by muslims the worldwide, and due to cooperation between the general secretariat of king fahd holy koran printing complex and the presidency of islamic researches, ifta, call and guidence regarding a faithful, specific and scholarly translation of the meanings of the holy koran, we are pleased to present to all muslims and those SEEKING SPIRITUAL LIGHT among english speaking people....May God reward bounteously those who were behind this BLESSED work. ~THE PRESIDENCY OF ISLAMIC RESEARCHES, IFTA, CALL AND GUILDANCE~

it is not unpatriotic to resist THAT form of theocracy. it is not a phobia to say no to THAT form of theocracy.

however, YOU have the right to ignore the HISTORICAL and CONTEMPORARY evidence of the fruits of islam and its theocratic "system" of governance of the people if you want to.

    Myelaine,

So are you saying you agree with the protestors? Keeping in mind that those Muslims are American citizens, that they and their children were called terrorists and told to go home, when this is their home? And I find it a bit hypocritical to find fault with the Q'uran's claim to be a way of life to benefit mankind, when the Bible makes the same claims (in fact it's the whole theme of the Bible) and we have the 10 commandments in courtrooms and people constantly claim this is a "Christian" nation.

Myelaine, I can only give you the same response that I gave Nathan Natas. Judaism is founded on the Old Testament and Christianity is founded on the New Testament. You know what thy have to say about the world and non believers, therefore you have no moral right to criticize ALL Muslims for what the Koran says without criticizing ALL Jews and Christians based on what their "holy" Bible has to say.

You seem to have double standards in applyig one form of condemnation to some but not to others. Here we go again:

    Old Testament:

    1. How they were to conquer and exterminate nations? (Deuteronomy 3:1-7)
    2. How they amputated the hand of a woman simply for defending her husband from his attacker by grabbing his testicles? (Deuteronomy 25:11,12)
    3. How they executed the victim of rape for not screaming? (Deuteronomy 22:23,24)

    Now condemn all Jews!

    New Testament:

    1. Christianity condemns non Christians, not so much to a brutal death, but to a brutal eternity.

15 He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. 16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. Mark 16:15,16--New International Version

    So don't forget

    to condemn all Christians

    as well for their scriptures!

And of course, Sam has nothing to say about the specific argument given.

    dear DanaBug...

I did not see the video and it is no longer available in that post.

I would NOT agree that a charity event for women and children is the forum to resist the islamic religion. I think that those who do use such events as a forum are misguided...just as I think that the protestors from westboro church at the funerals of servicemen/women are misguided.

open and honest debate ought to bring out correct information not intimidation.

I respect that the muslim clerics know how to interpret their koran and its sharia law. I respect that they mean and believe what they say at the preface of their koran with every fiber of their being. If a muslim person wants to live under the precepts of the koran and its sharia law, then fine, I can respect their decision. BUT I believe that it is not in the best interests of myself and my family to live under those same precepts and so therefore when the muslim population starts to make noises in the direction of introducing their sharia law in the host country I see a distinct lack of respect for the system we choose to live under.

sharia law is not the same as the ten commandments.

"Islamic law is probably best known for deterrent punishment which is the basis of the Islamic criminal system, and the discrimination against women.

Another important feature of Muslim law is the fact that there is no clear separation of church and state. Under Islamic law, the religion of Islam and the government are one. Islamic law is controlled, ruled and regulated by the Islamic religion; a theocracy.

Written in the form of a religious book akin to the form of the Christian Bible, the Koran nonetheless and relentlessly sets out a moral code - Islamic law - for adherents of the Islamic faith, of which it forms the pinnacle.

Because of this and also the strict, dramatic and unforgiving nature of the text, the law as it has formed in Islamic countries has followed the edicts of the Koran, often literally and often with cruel result. This is contrasted with the governments of Christian nations who have abandoned similar dramatic or violent parables of law as set out in the Bible, instead extracting and developing a relatively un-invasive rule of law."

once sharia law is imposed on a society...any criticism of the government is taken as blasphemy, for which Sharia prescribes prison or death."

    cf. http://www.duhaime.org/LegalDictionary/S/ShariaLaw.aspx http://www.duhaime.org/LegalDictionary/T/Theocracy.aspx

the islamic religion believes that their sharia law is THE superior form of governance and I don't think it is wise to confuse the true face of islam with the face of your moderate muslim american friends. one is a thing the other is a person. though I didn't see the video I can "imagine" that the protestors did confuse the two as the quote has them telling the muslim people to "go home" and calling them "terrorists".

islam seems to have gobbled up every culture in its path, do we want to wait until we are intimidated before we "push back" against it? or should we stand up for our sons before the situation is critical?...there comes a time, doesn't there, that one has to BE patriotic or risk losing forever that which we love.

    A) There are no "Christian nations", and B) When there were they were as bloody as anything the world has ever seen.
