Scavenging for members at their place of work

A sister from the sign language congregation was busy trying to find Deafies in her territory last week and came into my work to invite me to Memorial.

I took the invitation graciously enough but didn't take the DVD of the part of the Bible.

Some of my co-workers are studying and most are Catholic (I think), so tearing up and throwing away a picture of Jesus into the garbage would not be nice.

I set it on the break room counter, not knowing what else I could do with it.

Silly me, I could have put it in my purse and disposed of it at home.

    Just rattled, I guess.

Wish they'd quit coming in and bothering me, because it opens old wounds.

    Hello White Dove,

does your job have a policy on solicitation ?????

if they do maybe you can use that to prevent them

    from bothering you at work

    How about a simple

    "No, I am not interested"....?

I do that every time they come around...every week.

Two weeks ago, I asked the elder of that congregation to please remove me from their list.

It's so easy to do: White Dove at Taco Bell located at ... DO NOT CALL.

My boss is a JW but doesn't say a word on the job.

    White Dove,

when you were hired, did you recieve, some work

literature, about the rules and regulations of the

work place, and did you sign off on this. the no solicitation policy should be

stated among the rules of the work place. Your boss

would be required to adhere to this if it is company

policy. This would be a sure fire way to stop them from

    harrassing you at work

Are they really harassing WHITE DOVE?

You dont think your exxagerating a bit there?

Just say no, keep saying no, and treat them with the same respect you would want if you felt like you had "an urgent message" to give...

Can't do that, they'll swarm you like a pack of wild dogs, which seems to be happing to White Dove. She's already asked an elder to take her off the list. What happened, ignored, that's what. They keep on coming, to her work place no less. Sounds like harassment to me.

Seems like we have an artist well versed in the medium of hyperbole....

Swarm you like a pack of dogs? Right...

    Come on...

The problem at the very least, Krettnawe, is that many JWs don't understand what the word "NO" really means. In my book, that's a BIG problem. I could easily see this problem getting to the point where WD might end up having to take out a restraining order against these folks if they can't take NO for an answer. This is starting to get a little disturbing IMHO...

I've always liked "Mind your own beeswax!"
It's rude and juvenile but fun.

Reminds me of an episode of the office. Dwight was supposed to write down why he was visting the corporate office and he wrote "Beeswax, Not Yours, Inc."
