I totaly endorse what Chris has just said. Trust yourself.

And don't let the scripture about the heart being treacherous jump into your mind to put you off here. You are an intellecual, intelligent being with (if you believe) God-given abilities to reason and research. You are on a good path right now even though it may be a bumpy ride before you reach the end. Keep going and it will get better, I promise! You may not end up knowing all the answers, but thats ok. You will end up happier and content with all that life has to offer you.

I grew up as a Witness and had the same doubts as you my whole life . I did not want to hurt my Mom and leave the religion ......I shoved down the doubts and caused myself to suffer depression ,unhappiness, anxiety for most of my life .

Please listen to your own inner voice ,you are young and have a whole future in front of you . I didn't start listening to my own conscience until I was in my late 40's ....Please don't wait that long .

It is scary to start realizing all you were taught to believe may not be true . But it is only scary until you face it and go through it .....then it is no longer something feared .

Why does god need to be prayed to in order to do the right thing...does he hold count on how many prayers have been prayed in order to act...the god business has been in place for thousands of years in order for mere humans to comprehend the unknown as if prayers to a deity will cure some ill "If I just pray enough" crap...god is a myth that humans rely on to explain the unexplainable pure and simple...

Welcome and sorry to hear of your pain that you've been through.

You do not need to leave because of doctrine, you already know that there is no love amongst the witnesses, true unconditional love, you see the hypocrisy, stop justifying why you SHOULD leave and just leave.

Of course easier said than done. Because I am at that point myself. But I do know firsthand after a year of researching and confirming all of my doubts about the WTS, all it was, was a justification why I should be leaving completely.

yeah, that sentiment always rubs me the wrong way after some kind of disaster. I mean, what about the thousands, if not millions of other people who have been devastated.

If you have interent access, go to Youtube. There are so many videos that highlight points in Crisis of Consciense. Search Ray Franz, governing body, charles taze russell, faithful and discreet slave, watchtower society, etc. You will get a lot of eye opening information, I assure you. Youtube is not an apostate website, so you aren't technically doing anything wrong. :)

I never felt right about praying for our brothers.

When I was a kid, I wondered why not pray for our sisters, too?

Then when I grew up, I wondered why not pray for EVERYONE?
