This kind of self affirming dogma is really not unusual in the world of religion, its intensionally
culling and power building, which also cultivates financial support for this publishing house.
Good old fashion bullshit created inside of religious wholesome purity and expressed with

It just goes to show that those a****les in the GB fancy themselves as gods. They want adulation and worship for themselves!

THETRUEONE- Very true. It is good old fashioned BS that the WT society uses to dupe the masses of JW's into thinking the GB is more important than they really are. They are Gods unto themselves.
VAMPIRE- The WT society leaders ARE very egotistical and want adulation and admiration for themselves. And also they desire to keep power and control over 7 million mind controlled adherents. Very disgusting

You can liken the authority of the governing body with Tommy. Tommy is six years old, playing in a sandbox. He wants to have your shovel, but you don't want to give it to him. Tommy tells you that if you don't give him the shovel, his brother will come by and beat you up. You don't give him your shovel, because you don't believe him. Tommy keeps telling you that his brother is coming over real soon, any minute now. But you still don't give him your shovel. Tommy tells you that he sees his older brother coming right there around the corner... But you still don't believe him and hold on to your shovel. It wasn't his brother coming around the corner, it was someone else.
After a while you find out that Tommy doesn't even have an older brother.

This is a GREAT analogy. They even went so far as to steal the reputation of Bible God and use him as a model for their Watchtower god, complete with all the killing, plagues and judgement. Then they claim that their pretend god chose their organization as appointed muscle on earth.
KURTBETHEL- You are right. The Tommy analogy is perfect. The GB IS just like Tommy saying he has a bigger brother who will come beat us up if we don't cooperate. They put themselves in the place of God and really paint themselves as THE final authority to answer to. It's disgusting
The "Faithful and Discreet Slave" and their holy "Watchtower" books are no different than Judism's "Rabbis" and their holy "Talmud". And both claim "God's Chosen"! And yes, the "Catholic Hierarchal" too! And yes, Mormans! And yes! and yes! and yes! The adversary in charge of this planet appears to each of its different holy institutions as and angel of light. And yes folks, each really are "His Chosen" as claimed!
CW PAYNE- Welcome to the board ! Thanks for your comment. Everybody thinks they are the chosen one with each of their religions being correct. JW's , Mormons, Catholics, Scientologists, Baptists, etc, etc. I think they are all full of $hit. Just my humble opinion
