    Your right it's too Ridiculous!

Great idea...I will check back in a year....actually many things will start happening this year.

In the mean time "what the hell" spend a little time away from this board and check out the many references I mentioned.

Of course that would take time....but since nothing is going to happen this year or the next. Time is the one thing you have plenty of.....

Howdy to you, WNB. Haven't seen hide nor hair of you since Dallas fest. Hope you're doing well.

I changed that list, the former known Bethelites, replacing New Boy with Was New Boy since you changed your handle.

    WAS NEW BOY:

I feel somewhat like you do that there are 'things' coming upon the earth that aren't too pleasant - to put it mildly. And it has nothing to do with the JWs. Other people and other religions have been making these predictions, so the JWs don't have a monopoly on end-of-time prophecies.

While I do think it is wise to have provisions in your house, such as canned food, water, toilet paper, first aid and batteries, etc. -- these things will only last for so long. Maybe somebody here and there might be able to hoard several months worth of provisions. But, ultimately, if society breaks down and if there is a catastrophic situation (like what is happening in Japan right now), it won't matter much in the long run. Having these provisions is great but this is in the hopes that life gets back to 'normal' sometime soon. But, what if it doesn't get back to normal? What then?

    FINALLY FREE:

You are absolutely right. In the event of a MAJOR catastrophe, you won't even be able to buy necessities - no matter how much silver, gold or baubles you may offer. It will be every man for himself. Never mind who is president/prime minister. It won't matter.

I too still believe in Jehovah. He's the ultimate "Elephant in the room". When the Elephant decides to move... you'll know it. There won't be any denying it.

In case of disaster the LA County's Office of Emergency Management states that the following should be included in an emerggency kit:

    1. Water

    2. Food

    3. Cash and Important Documents

    4. Clothes

    5. Flashlight

    6. First Aid Kit

    7. Prescription Medication

    8. Radio

    9.Toiletries

    10. Tools

These essential items will help ensure that people have access to basic essentials when other resources may not be available during an emergency. It is also vital that families put together a Communications Plan, such as a pre-planned place to meet and a designated out-of-state contact, in case family members are separated or at work or school when a disaster strikes.

Eh... In a real apocalyptic situation, what you would also need guns... and lots of them.

LEN thanks old buddy.... hope things are good for you and your family!

LONGHAIR GAL yes of course food and provisions are important...I'm not saying gold and silver will save you or anyone. I'm saying gold and silver now, before the "change" happens. Afterwards we could be in a barter economy....where a "chapstick" could be worth more then a bar of gold.

I'm not here preaching doom and gloom...I'm saying "change" because that is what I believe. The way of doing business on this planet, just isn't working. A great change is coming. What thing or things is going to bring this change... time will only tell. I do believe a better world is coming. I don't believe that it will be "Mad Max" or "Book of Eli" Instead people will work together much like the people of japan are working together now. The world will be a better place....just less people on it.

Jomavick....No bunker here. I plan on being on the other side of the shift...but I won't be in Portland. Who knows Nebraska could be the new west coast lol.

Sam Whiskey Sorry Sam I don't believe in the mean, pissed off and jealous god who whats to kill everyone off! Mother Earth on the other hand....I'm more worried about her.

We have only just begun to piss off "Mother Earth." There is no way we can bring about an environmental catastrophe of the proportions you 2012ers are hoping for in just one and a half more years, barring a nuclear war.

Sure, we pollute more than is good for the planet but we're nowhere near the end game as far as that goes.

Come back in 2112 and maybe we'll have something to worry about.

    gold? silver? food?

the only thing you need is a weapon, so you can call on all those food hoarders.

ah btw, i'll enter any bet that i'll still be around in 2013.
