There is no real love in this organization, the people that are loving are that way by no account of this f-ing cult. All the rest truly are a product of it though. Its sad.
Hell if he had attempted and failed, he probably would have been dissfellowshipped for attempted suicide... assholes

It is another senseless tragedy. I haven't forgotten from my own experience how terribly depressing it is to be a JW. There were so many times in my life that I thought dying would be a relief. That's a miserable feeling.
I think I've almost lost count of all the JW men that I've know that have committed suicide. A guy in my bethel congregation. The son of a temporary worker. The son of my dad's pioneer partner. The brother of a girl I had a thing for once. A young guy that was briefly in my congregation with his sister and brother-in-law. A friend shortly after he was "downsized" from bethel. Another friend a few years after he and his wife were downsized from bethel. And another brother in the same hall very shortly afterward. That's eight. And that just makes me so, so sad.

This is incredibly sad. It does not make sense. The article was badly written and why not just come out and say whoever was 'monitoring' his computer? Don't even know how they would do that unless you had connections with homeland security. Maybe they do eh? Dubs with deep pockets and all. Wifi wouldn't do it but I'm not an expert.
It is sad. Where was the help, there is always a reason why people do what they do and usually it's that there needs are not being met somewhere. Totally agree with DOC, it should be about support buts it's not and eh, someone disliked DataDog. I enjoyed the honesty in your post DD. That's real life and I'm sure the big J will make them pay one day or that is what I was always told when I saw injustice - yeah right. Cheers

I would think it would be difficult to get life insurance monies without a body. But, if he jumped in a harbour, the body could just simply be gone. It could wash up later or never.
On another note, it sounds like his wife found the porn and then contacted the elders. I wonder how she feels about that decision now.

I seriously contemplated suicide many times. I was NEVER good enough for the WTBTS Inc. You could be reading about me. Thank Jeehoobie I learned TTATT.
I knew a very nice brother from Bethel. He committed suicide. As Billy has said, it's sad. The word "sad" does not even begin to account for the loss of this man's family.
The collateral damage caused by organized religions and their Gurus is beyond measure. If there is a God and he is just, there will be some heads rolling.
I will gladly take my chances as a doubter before the throne of Big J, or whoever.

I don't have a problem with porn and I certainly would never give my husband trouble for it.
I know this is very retro now, what with the internet and all, but when we got married, I gave my husband a subscription to Playboy magazine. It was my way of letting him know I was chill about the whole porn thing.
I just thought it needed to be said, considering that people feel the need to commit suicide over being caught watching it: watching porn does not make you a bad person. It makes you a normal person.
