    I'm not alone then!?!

My Mom & Wife are the same. They seem to have a forcefield that keeps logic, reasoning and true meanings out but keep watchtower doctrine and double talk in.

Mrs Punk has no idea what the overlapping is. Now, I know no one does but Mrs Punk says she never even heard of it. She has no idea who the GB are.

Some people prefer the false hope of a derlusion to harsh reality.

I'm sorry for you Sinis......is there a way to open their eyes? Goodness knows. Goodness only bloomin' knows!

Well that is the odd thing. We have NOT been to a meeting in over 7-8+ years!!! We have been celebrating ALL the holidays for years now. Celebrating birthdays (in fact one this weekend), going to casinos, playing the lottery, etc. I don't know why this sudden wild hair up the ass occasion. I hope no one comes to visit as I have been doing a great fade for almost a decade...

She even sees the hypocrisy in the JW's. The only thing I can think of is she does not want to tell my mother everything that is going on, or make me look like the ass - which frankly if thats what it takes to stay out of the cult, I'm fine.

It pisses me off when people (family included) stick their nose in shit thats none of their business!!!

not for nothing, your mom with all due respect needs to mind her business, your the head of the house and it should be what you say. you need to sit down with your wife and have a serious conversation about how you are feeling towards her going to the memorial or whatever. and i agree with you 100% a divided marriage is not good at all. just my 1 cent

According to the Bible and the WTBTS the husband has headship over the wife. Your mother cannot make a decision affecting your wife. Only you can do that.

What century are you guys in?

I think anyone who says this is a means to control has blinders on, or themselves have not lived through the "divided" household, with all due respect.

As far as a divided household goes..you have no idea! I was in one for over 30 years..I was a witness for 15 before that.

    Snoozy..

Please dont use the 'head of the house' stuff...it stinks...it caused me 20 years of pain and sorrow and ultimately cost me my children...ditch it its one of the worst methods of the cult to subdue women....

Parents do that.. They really think they are doing something good..you have to remember that. People need to speak for themselves..the idea that the mom thought the husband had control over the wife and could stop her from going doesn't say much about him!

    Just saying...

Snoozy, who CAN speak for herself..and did!

Well I hear you Snoozy. I talked a little bit about it with her, and it seems she did not know how to tell my mother no and kind of threw it back on me. Oh, well...

Ask her to show you evidence from the Bible that "onlookers" should attend the event, who don't participate. Jesus had other followers than the apostles, but only the ones who ate the bread and drank the wine were present. It's obvious from Scripture that not all 1 st Century Christians were annointed, even though JW doctrine insists they were. Only the "little flock" was invited, which is why the Memorial is such an uncomfortable event. Great crowd attendees are party crashers.

This is all my personal opinion, from my Bible study and research. Fortunately, I'm not one of the good ol' boys in Brooklyn, so I won't coerce you to believe what I do.
