Do you get hassled for posting here frequently?

My wife is the only person I really talk to about JW crap. She never grew up a JW or ever was one, so it gets hard for her sometimes to understand. But no pressure to not go on here.

This forum helps me deal with the issues and there's the sense of community. Some days I think being on here too much only perpetuates the frustration, but mostly it is therapeutic. Having no one else really to talk I need this forum...and you guys.

So thanks to you all. Maybe someday I won't need this place...but today I do.

Don't know why a non JW would care. I've never been hassled but I have not told many I post here. I did say who I was on this site but if you read hear why would you judge those that post?

I get hassled by specific posters.

I am officially a thread killer. If I post the thread usually dies.

I find that if you are not well known on here then people usually don't give you the time of day, kind of like in the borg, social cliques.

But I do come for the info and that's about it.

Great discussion SAB . . . thanks for opening it . . . I feel a keen sense of familiarity with all that has been said thus far . . . and are pleased that it has been said.

When I found this site, I too saw it as a temporary excursion of limited value . . . but my mind has quickly changed. The shared experience (with it's variations) is such a profoundly deep and intense one, that I feel a strong bond with the people here . . . and I wasn't expecting that.

Now I see it as a community I will not be in a hurry to leave . . . a community which has great value for multiple reasons. I spent 25+ years helping people in to the cult of Jehovah's Witnesses . . . While not making it an "obsession", I look forward to spending many years helping them out again . . . and this forum is a good place to contribute to that.

Yea I got hassled over the years here from posters here at jwd. Many here can't beleive my stories , how I can twist jw's into a KNOT in 10 minutes. Hence I don't post much, But I'm still working the streets ambushing jw's when ever I get a chance . Talking to worshippers of the WTS is like taking candy from a baby...

Momma-Tossed-Me...I'm fairly new here too, but can't agree with that. Especially " people usually don't give you the time of day". Sure there are "old-timers" that would know eachother well and share some closer connections.

From my experience, there are some very genuine and warm people on here. Some very intelligent, some not. Some crazy, some...less crazy (lol). Some can be rude or insensitive, some communicate and express themselves with kindness. It takes all kinds, and this forum is no different.

Don't take this the wrong way....but I'd suggest looking at yourself. Wonder if you feel that way is because the way you manage your expectations.

Sabastious I hope I won't get hassled. I fairly new and my posting has help me alot. It kind of builds up my confidence. Boy do I fit in with that list of ailments. I know I need to go back to counseling but at this time I can not afford it. Thanks to this site it keeps me sane. Totally ADD

Minimus I hope you don't drink as much as you post, if you do there is no hope for you, you are a lost soul.

I post a few comments here and there, even start a few topics. My daughter asks all the time why, myself and Terry whom she has met, spend time hanging around something we haven't been involved in for thirty years. Main reason; to help others no matter what level their attachment to the wt is. It is built into people who have seen the light to pass that on to other's. Simple really. Least that's my story and am sticking to it.
