IMHO the GB and the leaders of the Borg only care for new blood they dont give a flying shit for old timers/doubters ones who may be concerned about stuff not being right, the Old Timers are mostly approaching their deathbeds and are not holding cash, and with still large numbers coming in being shown pretty pictures of the paradise Earth and being indoctrinated about the Mother being Gods chosen channel these Newbies probably are so exited about how members of the only true religion would be persecuted and be under attack from Satan, as sad and terribly narrow minded as it appears it is the reality.

I'm not really sure what's new, though.
The magazines have always been wildly inconsistent. One month it is hardline shunning and child sacrifice, the next it is love and forgiveness and reaching out to help others. I think the Borg has dissociative identity disorder and has ever since it was taken over by committees.

I disagree with this, I think WTS gets plenty of donations from old faithful and from their wills. I think the younger ones are the ones that donate less. The older generation also was able to save more and have more in their lifetime without much education than the today's uneducated youth.
As for tightening, I agree they are doing this and have been pushing the GB worship-like status for at least the last 5 years and this is more and more evident today. They need to dumb down the r&f to the point that they can pass any new change with the jws just obeying with the least amount of dubs leaving. 1914 will have to be changed or eliminated but I'm sure they will get input from CO and DO as to the loyalty of the faithful before they do anything to this date. After 100 years people will start getting impatient. They know their time is running out so they must have a plan in place. If they push 120 years of Noahs day that's only another 20 years that they bought themselves and then what? IMO the future noo light has to be big enough that they are already indicating to the r&f that they should be happy about any new changes they receive from GB which to me indicated they are preparing them for the future big changes in doctrine.

The average JW believes what he/she was taught when they were first indoctrinated. Many do not keep up with new light. Most JWs have never noticed any changes because they are rarely presented as such.
I couldn't agree more. And that means that at least a few GB members were around in 1952 when the WT said we are not living in a theocratic nation that can kill apostates. They still have that mindset.
It is why the idiot witness chiropractor in SD sends out emails with false info about vaccines; his dad, a witness also, internalized the misinformation about vaccines from the Awake in the 30's and never got over it.
As for doctrinal matters, I think the reason the magazines deal less and less with doctrine is they have no one with a master plan, like Fred Franz, or the way with words to make it at least sound plausible.
Their solution appears to be to make it even less intellectually appealing, withe the dumbed down version of the WT.

There is no master plan anymore, I agree. They are holding on to the past for dear life just hoping that either "the end" will come in their lifetime or that they will die peacefully in their sleep and wake up next to a pet lion in the "new system." They would rather do anything but actually LIVE THIS life right now.

If the religion made any real sense, it would be totally unnecessary to be afraid of outsiders. Which point I notice with the "buy silver" groups. These range from those asking you to buy only an ounce of silver at one end, to those who sell everything and work 80 or 90 hours a week so they can get all they can. (Which is taking it beyond reasonable.) There is no fear of outsiders in that group--it won't be until after the dollar becomes toilet paper that the "outsiders" (that is, those without silver) are going to show up--and it will be them that will be panicking, not the "insiders" (the ones that have investment silver). There is absolutely no worry about associating with people that do not possess silver, as if they have a "mental disease".
Unlike the silver investors, the witlesses have absolutely nothing of substance. They have to resort to bashing those outside the group, because the tiniest critical argument is like the pin that pops the balloon. Anyone outside the cancer is a threat to their belief system. Not only that, but they bash those that "only buy one ounce of silver" or that have to cut back because their savings are depleted (with silver, that means that much less to lose when the dollar crashes. With the witlesses, that means that much less they have left to waste on endless works). The ones that slow down, attending fewer boasting sessions, are a threat to their beliefs because they are so flimsy. And, unlike the silver, if nothing happens with Armageddon among the witlesses, the value of all their works will hit zero.

Yes, yes, yes, yes, you've hit the nail on the head.
Before I left I started noticing comments about obeying them even if it seems "unsafe" to do so. They need to bring in big changes to their eschatology, but before they do so they need to condition the drones to obey without question, even more so than usual.

"Why would God only make a New Covenant of Grace with 144,000 people? He didn't. The other sheep, I told this elder, were us. the Gentiles. We are now included, both Jew & Gentiles, into the same Covenant.
I realize that Watchtower beliefs make absolutely no sense and the average witness has no idea they are on the outside looking in, just like the Gentiles before the New Covenant. They truly are brainwashed, unable to think rationally for themselves. I always got so frustrated. Don't they read their bible? ..."
NOooooo, Guest With Questions, Jehovah's Witnesses DON'T read their bibles... They're too busy studying the Watchtower literature instead...
Although the Watchtower Society gives 'lip service' to reading the bible all the way through, and reading it every day, they actually work AGAINST bible reading for the average Jehovah's Witness...
You'll notice, if you read their literature and listen to their talks, that they emphasize the need for rank & file Jehovah's Witnesses to follow the direction of the "faithful and discreet slave class" [aka the "Governing Body"...] FAR, far more often than they encourage Jehovah's Witnesses to read their bibles...
As for reading the bible independently - that was/is considered a HUGE 'no-no' from Russell's time onwards. The Watchtower Society emphasizes AND exacerbates the rank & file's INability to understand the bible BY ITSELF - the Watchtower Society attempts to over-complicate the bible's messages to the point that the average Jehovah's Witness will become confused if they attempt to read and understand the bible BY THEMSELVES.
Which means they remain under Watchtower control...

With that said I guess JW's can toss 1 thessalonians 5:21 " make sure of all things."
