Jehovah, Jesus, and the HOly Spirit have been replaced with Jehovah, Jesus, and the Organization... Makes me sick just to type the words... :-(

I've been questioning since I was a child. Click on this link to see the questions I had. http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/jw/experiences/208454/1/Crazy-theories-and-tough-questions-asked-by-a-kid

I think I never developed the ability to question. I never thought I would be able to leave, so why bother? I don't really think I started questioning until 6 months to a year or so after I left.

Children accept the reality they are presented with. They usually don't question it, until their experiences don't fit with what they were taught. There were things that I noticed: God killing everyone who's not a JW, evolution could have been how God created, horrible people being appointed by holy spirit, how draining everything was, why I was so weak I kept messing up. I ignored those things, it was the truth, imperfect men, Satan's system of things, etc. It's amazing what you notice once you're eyes are actually open, all the things you never paid attention to before. Adds up pretty quick.

I questioned them in my mind, but in the same time I wanted to believe. Typical cognitive dissonance. In the end, reason and logic prevailed.

This is so true!!! I couldn't believe how easily the house of cards fell apart once I stopped propping it up.

I was taught from infancy not to question the Society. I blindly believed all the BS they could blow my way. What an idiot I was for all those years.

Which is why the WTS wants to control the members so much. Be babes as to badness means don't watch/read adult themed entertainment/information. It causes you to think, see things from other perspectives. They can't have their followers thinking with an open mind, or seeing things from a perspective that they, the leaders, did not plant.

They also want to keep the youth from seeking higher education. Going to college means learning new thinking skills, having your preconcieved notions challenged. It also means associating with a wider variety of people, people that may have been feared before...or looked at as dead people walking since Armageddon will kill them all. But when they get to know these people, they realize that most are not the evil, wicked, worshippers of Satan they were led to believe as children.

If they can keep the followers to continue to think on a child's level, they never learn to develop critical thinking skills and their analytical ability is hampered.

When someone finally reaches a point of thinking for oneself, questions arise. Doubts surface. That's when cognitive dissonance kicks in. If they're too indoctrinated, they'll continue to believe as they're told despite the evidences/information contrary to their held beliefs. When they start to give some credence to the facts that oppose their beliefs, that becomes the beginning of the end.

Think I'm intrinsically a skeptic and resistant to authority. Just took too long in letting it loose to question the WTBS. But recall having doubts and questions as early as 12 or 13. Buried them for a long time.

What is great about this forum is that all of us who've seen thru the JDub BS are rare breeds. We're skeptics, deep thinkers, resistant to conformity. Vast majority of people are just Sheeple...follow the herd mentality.

We're the Resistors of Constriction...the Renegades of Funk. Something like that.
