So true. The ChCh earthquake was a vivid reminder of that. The coastal highway (State Highway 1) between Paekakariki and Pukerua Bay is only there because of a massive earthquake in the Wellington region back in the 1850s. It is good to see the government becoming stricter about building codes for both commercial and private use.
