Lol! You're not really suggesting that the WT is worth keeping just so bethelites have got something to do are you?

Thanks for your reply. I can see Rick's methods aren't to your taste, thats fair enough. But if he has success in making the evils of the WT public knowledge then I say kudos to him. IMO the man's got ba*ls.

Is there any evidence of this success?

"Is there any evidence of this success?"
Why don't you ask Rick and Lawrence Hughes what they have achieved and what they hope to achieve in the future? I'm sure they'll be happy to tell you.
And if you can agree with their ultimate goals but can't agree on their methods, wouldn't it be better just to wish them well and leave them to it? Better to do that rather than criticise and mock their efforts as some have done on here.

Protesting topples goverments, protesting can topple the Watchtower!
No, public protesting such as you do will not topple the Watchtower and at this point in our society, it probably has very little effect on whether someone decides to study with Jehovah's Witnesses or not. If anyone is considering studying with a Witness, all they have to do is Google "Jehovah's Witnesses" and they will receive far more information about this damn cult than any public protest could possibly give. That's the wonderful thing about the internet.
Ray Franz, in his position as a member of the Governing Body was unable to bring about any change for the better in this religion, but ultimately through CoC, was instrumental in helping probably tens of thousands (if not more) out. Bill Bowen and Barbara Anderson have also helped alot out, but it wasn't done by protesting outside the KH or ASSemblies, but rather through the media and shows like Dateline and 20/20. Personally, I don't know of anyone that's come out of the Organization because they saw an ex-Witness holding a protest sign at the Memorial. As has already been stated, it simply reinforces the 'angry apostate' generalization that Witnesses are taught to avoid at all costs.
You seem to have an obsession with posters who don't publically reveal their 'name, rank and ID number' for all to see. Did it ever occur to you that many of us still have Witness family members that we still love and want in our lives despite not believing it's "the Truth"? Your black and white attitude seems to be that every single poster on here should be prepared to give up any and all family members for no other reason than you did. And by your yardstick, if we aren't prepared to give them up, then we're "moral cowards".
Everyone has different circumstances Rick, and instead of insisting that everyone do it your way instead of what works best for them, perhaps you need to take a step back.

Those of us who choose not to protest are certainly not Cowards. We made this decidsion for varying reasons including; 1) we are indifferent to the WT now that we are out 2) We choose to move ahead with our lives instead of living in the past, constantly reminding ourselves of our JW past 3) we know by protesting we are reinforcing the view that JW's have that they are being persecuted because they have the only truth, or maybe even 4)all of the above!
Rick, really there are 7 millions JWs worldwide, the organization is BIG $$ and they don't care about protests. However, I respect your right to protest if you feel it is cathargic for you emotionally to do so, but PLEASE respect others rights to NOT PROTEST and stop calling us cowards or telling us we are afraid of the WT. This is simply not true and will NEVER be true, no matter how many times you keep saying it. Peace, Lilly

hats off to Rick Fearon for getting his protest into print
somewhat ironic that Rick uses the Internet to decry those who use the internet and then posts an internet link to show us the success of his annual 6 man and a dog protest
Rick - take your own medicine and shut down 6screams for a year or two - stay off the internet and then come back and tell us how many people you have de-culted...
PS - feel free not to respond - we will know you are doing the right thing by your total absence from the Internet

Diamondizz, if the protests were large enough they would be picked up by the press and the last thing people would want to do is study with them.
I had a protest with eight people and it got press coverage......... Imagine ten thousand!
First of all Rick, there is press coverage and there is PRESS COVERAGE. I'm sure the "Lowell Sun" is a fine publication but I suspect it's a local newspaper and they do typically report every minor occurrence in their area. Being in a local newspaper achieves very little. Others have mentioned the more significant press coverage (including TV) that has been achieved for other issues.
I disagree with the claim that being in the press would put people off studying with them. Some say there is no such thing as bad publicity and just being in the news will make some people more likely to want to know what they are about or be willing to talk to them at the door.
Finally, you will NEVER get ten thousand exJWs together to protest. Even very organized unions struggle to get that many people out holding banners. It's just fanciful to think that it's possible and idiotic to say it out loud.

I for one think that the idea of having former HOT witness chicks holding up signs would do wonders for helping folks out of the borg.

Why would anyone waste their time protesting for anything ? Its retarded ... Its like writing letters to your detergent company letting them know how liked or dislike their product.
