Don't get so hung up about God judgeing you for being a sinner, we are ALL sinners. Even us Christians are sinners and will be judged by God too. And God judges according to HIS standards, not ours. Personally I am glad of this, I am much too harsh a critic of myself, rather have someone like Jesus doing it, LOL.
When I said "....we will be held acountable for our shortcomings" I meant mankind as a whole, not those in Christ.
Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
There will be no judgement day for Christians.

Wobble, perhaps you are a law unto yourself... perhaps the law is written on your conscience and heart? (such as the gentiles were, who Paul spoke about) Perhaps this keeps you from sinning (doing wrong). But if you're judged, you'll be judged on the basis of what you have/haven't done.
The whole thing about Adam is that sin entered the world through him. Because before he sinned, there was no sin - simply because he was the first TO sin. Now sin is in existence and so in the world, and I can't say that it isn't in our nature to sin, because I believe that it is. People usually have to be taught right from wrong, as children. Taught not to hit, to steal. Taught to share, to be kind, etc... we aren't normally born knowing and doing these things, and for the most part at first, we're dependent upon our parents to know right and wrong, in order to teach it to us.
Sometimes when I think of inherited sin from Adam... I think of a parent teaching their own mistakes and failings to their children. (an extreme example would be passing on racism from parent to child, or one generation to the next generation)

"Sin" is just a code word to say "you're not good enough for God."
Essentually you are born already in debt to the church.. I mean "god".

LV101, thank you. But oh no, definitely no!
The only thing I would ever want to say would be for people to follow Christ alone, first and foremost. He is the One Teacher. The One head of the church. I have been helped by other members of the Body of Christ here, on this forum, as well. I believe that loving one another and loving/having faith in Christ bonds us all. That is the church, and Christ already formed it, with Himself as the Head.
