  dog: Very little remains about what Pelagius said firsthand. Too much of his ideas are based on what his enemies attributed to him or misunderstood about himi. My view is based on Scripture, not the teachings of one man that I am not even that familiar with (I do know he was extreme compared to Finney and Arminius). I fully trust the character and attributes of God, but do not trust the Calvinistic distortions of them. Boo Calvinism for impugning the character and ways of God. God is not unjust to chose Israel over Egypt, but He would be unjust to arbitrarily decree salvation for some sinners, but not others. Even Calvin said that double predestination is odious, yet believed it anyway (to retain a flawed view of God's will). Calvinism undermines the impetus for preaching the gospel, prayer, etc. We are not doing ex-JWs a favor to get them into Calvinism vs biblical Christianity.

  Now it appears you believe a person's (ex-JWs) destiny is not just in their choice, but your ability to preach. When does God get the glory?

  You're the one coming in here with your doctrinal checklist and interrogating everybody. Decreeing who is and isn't a Christian based on your personal understanding. Arbitrarily touting "Biblical Christianity", while calling everybody who disagrees with anything you believe a heretic. You have all these little pigeon holes you demand everybody place themselves in. If they don't, you just assume you know what their "problem" is and start preaching at them with your condescending dogma, expecting everybody to lap up the vomit spewing from your mouth.

  You stand on your obnoxious soap box and bless the ones who will agree with something you say with your acceptance and attempt to parlay that into a trial by consensus against anyone who dare apostatize against your holy word. You tack on Bible verses like you blindly pull them out of a hat. You spout your flawed understanding as if we all know it and are too obstinate to accept it.

  You're a foul odor, posing as a Christian, stinking up the forum. You believe the Bible is your own personal book to rifle through and accept or reject whatever you see fit, while denying it as if we're all blind and ignorant. You believe your word is all we need and if we know our place, we'll disregard everything we know - all of our own study, research, and reasoning - to adopt as if God himself spoke to us. Just like the Catholic magesterium or the Jehovah's Witnsesses' Governing Body, you expect everybody here to just shut off their brains, shut their mouths, and blindly obey you as some abomination of a prophet. You've lost your damned mind.

  Wrestling with the deity of Christ is not quarelling about useless words. A sound Christology is the bare minimum, not an endless doctrinal checklist of peripheral issues. Using your logic, talking theism with an atheist is a bad thing because it might ruffle their feathers.

  The 144,000, whoever they are, are also "Christs". Anyone who is anointed is a "Christos". That means they are also "Deity". They are ONE UNIT with God and Jesus. (John 17). So much for "Christ" being a man. This "Christ" predates Jesus by thousands of years. He certainly was not the first and wasn't the last. The truth is, he was the MOST Christified, so far. If none of this is true, we are all doomed to eternal destruction.

  Augustine was unduly influenced by Platonic philosophy and boasted about combining Christianity with Greek philosophy.

  The man was raised under the infulence of Greek philosophy and spoke to others raised in the same way, he had to pretty much work from that "point of reference".

  Well designs, you know I was being facetious and I don't believe in eternal destruction. We all have the Christ in us. Just the fact that we are interested in spiritual matters is all the proof necessary.
