  Prediction time.

  They're going to milk the 1914 and generation thing for at least until 2034. Only mass exodus or threat of financial ruin will prompt them to ditch it before then.

  After 2034 they will in effect cancel Armageddon.

  They will claim that 1914 began the 1000 year reign and that the 20th century was the "great tribulation." Current JWs who lived through it are living in fulfillment of Revelation 7:9 right now. They already have the doctrine that "before the throne" means "on the earth" so what difference does it make really?

  Armageddon will be postponed to the END of the 1000 year reign when Satan is let loose. They already have an Armageddon-like event planned for that date so this would actually give it a name and remove the pesky non-occurring Armageddon that plagues them at present. They will have to change their doctrine on just when Satan was hurled to the earth and when he was thrown into the abyss but that's a small matter in the big scheme of things. They could actually even state that the arrests and siezures of Satan and the demons is ongoing during the early part of the millennium, so as to keep the rank and file in fear of the deemunz for as long as possible.

  The new JW paradigm will be that we are now more than 100 years into the millennial time of judgment and there are NO MORE SECOND CHANCES. If you die a JW, you will be resurrected to paradise after the end of the 1000 years. ("the rest of the dead didn't come to life until after the 1000 years have ended") If you die a non-JW or in a DFd or DAd state, you are dead forever. No hope. So you still have the stick and the carrot but just in a different form.

  Reasonable predictions, but don't forget the WTS is quite irrational.

  The thing they crave the most is POWER.

  If JWs think that Armageddon is 900 years away, why jump through hoops to OBEY OBEY OBEY the Governing Body now? If you think the JWs are slackers now, what will they be like with a 900 year window?

  And if somebody gets DF'ed, so what? Just get reinstated when you're age 70 or 80 and all is well.

  Nope, the imminent threat that Jehovah will slit your (and your children's) throats ANY DAY NOW, MAYBE TOMORROW is what keeps the R&F in line and hanging on the GB's every pronouncement.

  They will never give up on "Armageddon is coming SOON!" It's the foundation of their power, which is what they crave (consciously or unconsciously) the most. They are addicted to it like a meth-head.

  So according to most people this picture shows 5 generations:

  

  1: A newborn child.

  2: The infants mother standing on the left.

  3: The grandmother sitting on the left

  4: The great-grandmother standing on the right

  5: The great-great grandmother sitting on the right holding the baby.

  But according to this new overlapping generation thing, they are all ONE generation, and even after the great-great grandmother is long dead and this child has grown old and is 90, it'll still be the SAME generation.

  So if a Bob is newly born in 1914 and lives for 100 years, and then Carl is born in 2014, Carl would be considered the same generation as Bob.

  Meaning Carl could be born in 2014 and live for a hundred years and the Bob's generation had not passed away yet. So armageddon could come as late at 2114 or even later if people live over 100 years.

  Bob has to be anointed (thus baptized) as a Jehovah's Witness on or before 1914 to count as part of the overlapping generation.

  Is it just me or is the 'overlapping generations' the most insane 'new light' (TM) they've invented as damage control since 'Stay Alive in '75 is all your fault'?

  (I don't count the ''toes are of naff all importance'' as 'New Light' (TM) as it's just redundant filler and another 'flip flop').

  When wondering about bat shit crazy new light and what the craziest is, keep in mind that the talk that includes the image and the toes has the provisio that there will be further info and explanation in an upcoming tower article. Also remember that it has been said by what seems a reliable source that there was a book ready to go that was not produced in time for this assembly. They are working overtime scratching their heads to come up with something "profound" that will satisfy the craving on the part of the "rank and file" as Barr called them, that won't backfire like the overlapping generation.
