    Lisa Obeesa!

I/we do the same - works out really great.

Better to make a friend than an enemy, Jam.

    May you have peace.

I had a neighbor that would do the same thing. I work nights and the garbage would be picked up before I got home so I didn't know it was happening. Then I started getting notices that I was required to put all of my trash in bags and that loose trash would not be picked up. I didn't know what they were talking about so I just ignored it. I live alone so I usually only had 2 bags in the bin, one from the house and one of dog poop. Imagine my surprise when I came home one morning to an overflowing garbage can of loose trash with a note stapled to it saying they were not picking up my trash unless it was bagged. It looked like they just filled up kitchen garbage cans and then dumped them in my bin.

I asked around and found out who it was. I confronted him and asked him to just bag his trash if he was going to use my bin. He told me to f off, that he would use my bin if he wanted, and that there was nothing I could do about. I proceeded to dump the bin in his yard. This continued for a few weeks until he gave up and started using another neighbor's bin. Everyone on the block knew what was going on so they would dump his trash in his yard if he used their can. He eventually stopped but he never got his own bin. I don't know what he did with his trash.

Where I lived it was raccoons that got into the garbage. We had a sturdy bin we locked it is and the garbage man had a key. Of course, this probably won't work because the pickup guys would not go through such hoops.

It reminds of the people who would walk their dogs and let them poop and then not pick it up. This one homeowner put it in a paper bag, put in front of the dog owners home door and lit it on fire and ran and hid (small fire). Nothing like stomping on barbecued dog crap.

If it is causing extra cost or polluting your garbage bins, I would call the local authorities and find out what legal recourse you have. Be careful, I saw a news story about a guy that was psycho and doing anything provocative escalated to a scary point.
