Hey man, congrats on your bravery and free thought, I am sincerely impressed by your inner strength, knowing what it takes to dare to even doubt.

you can make it very easy on yourself and your wife. The Watchtower literature have sold you a god, it's a fatherly, warm, loving God who cares so much for you he even notices a leak, amongst all of earths goings on......etc etc etc... He cares when you are financially broken, when you are emotionally exhausted and when you are physically ill.....

The best thing I ever did, was read the bible, from scratch.... I mean, not in a robitic JW way with a JW focus on specific sentences, ignoring the rest, but reading it as you would read literature, a book. I STRONGLY recommend it.

By by the time you have read a few books with continuity and context you will see things you had never ever seen before, things that will make you realise the bible tells a very different story with a very different God, a very, very, very unpleasant deity.....

trust me, the good book will sink the nails in the coffin itself,,... You have to love the irony

Wow I had the opposite experience from reading the bible on my own, maybe cuz I started in Matthew this time, but whatever works for you.

Either you are the one & true religion or not. As pointed out numerous times, the WBTS has either outright lied or were mistaken about their stance on doctrinal matters. When held up to the teachings of Jesus, they fall far short for being the " one & only true religion". As 1914 wasn't the beginning or ending of ANYTHING; you're just another manmade religion. The one true religion is not here yet... your not it.....we will grow old & die.... You've wasted your life sacrificed to a manmade religion....Everyone will come back....I'll personally be there to tell you I told you so........Have a nice day. i just read this entire thread - thank you for being so kind as to respond on my own topic thread entitled "Struggling" a few days ago.

I'm in one heck of a state on and off - not because I'm vacillating between going back to meeting or staying well away.... But because of the grief.

I hope you and Mrs S keep strong together.

The more I dare to watch the JW TV channel, the more I feel utterly sick.

In the meantime, my whole psyche is in turmoil.

Take care of yourselves... There will be good days and not such good days.

It's surprisingly easy to spot the stupid once you've finally admitted that it's there.

As for the GB's approval... those guys - and every other hard-core JW loyalist on the planet - never miss an opportunity to claim credit for Jehovah (and by extension, themselves) when something advantageous happens.

Hi everyone!

I can’t believe it has been 5 months since my first post here. So much has happened in that time. We thought it would be wise to hold off posting until we were completely out, just in case we accidentally gave something away about our identities.

Mrs Stumpy and I wanted to let everyone know we are both doing good and well into our fade. It hasn’t been easy by a long shot but we are excited about living the rest of our lives together without our heads in the sand and controlled by that high control religion/cult.

I’m no longer an elder, we haven’t been out in service for over 2 months and our last meeting was over a month ago. There’s been good days and bad days but lately there are way more good ones. It’s been fun planning our future together. It’s also been fun doing and planning certain things together that we couldn’t/wouldn’t do as witnesses but had always wanted to.

My sadness and heartbreak transformed into anger and I’m now well on my way to indifference which is where we both want to end up.

For a long time we were grieving the thought of losing all our friends… but now we realize that we can’t stand being around witnesses and their pompous, mind-numbingly ignorant conversation anymore. After a night of listening to couples talking about wanting to go to the SKE school, their take on blood transfusions and their disturbing thoughts on the Royal Commission we wanted to shoot ourselves. It’s gratifying to realize we have moved on from them, not the other way around. I can’t stand to think about the amount of drivel, crap and nonsense that must have fallen out of my mouth over all the years I was a witness! It’s painful to listen to… and embarrassing to realize I was once in that zombie like state. No more though.

I spent over 6 months deeply researching the “truth” (we hate calling it that now) and collecting and collating information to wake Mrs Stumpy up. I knew she wouldn’t read anything that wasn’t from the society’s publications and definitely nothing from “apostate” books or websites – so I put together folders of scanned articles in different subjects just from the WT literature with minimal handwritten notes. This is what woke Mrs Stumpy up. We would like to share these with everyone to give a little back to this awesome community. Hopefully they can help wake someone else up too.
