Hey expatbrit, dude in Canada if you have to ask someone more than once to leave they are tresspassing. You may use reasonable force to evict them.If they give you too much trouble punch them out, toss them and call the cops. Then lay tresspassing and assault charges...OUTLAW

"Assault" is what you did to Dana in Ana's "what do you look for in men?" thread!

Assaulting an elder is no crime

Thanks to everbody for your replies and excellent ideas!
It would seem then that a bit of lapel stretching is permissible in reasonable measure and under the right circumstances.
Bwahahaha!

You could always claim extenuating circumstances.

Hmmm
expat,
I'm not sure our paths have yet crossed on the boards. I enjoy your posts.
Anyhoo, I agree with Commie Chris. I assume that Canadian law is similar enough to US law that a lapel-wrinkling escort to the door isn't going to bring the Mounties down on you.
However... you're in Canada, right? You've got snow there, right? You've put salt on your walkway to prevent slip-and-falls, right? Then if you escorted said elder to the door by the jacket flaps, backed him out the door, gave him a little shove, and he fell and skidded down the walk on his bum, then yeah, there would be ass-salt.

Hmmmm:
Ass-salt! Grooooaaaaaannnn!!! LOLOLOL!!!
Unfortunately, and I'm not making this up, I can get sued in Canada for not cleaning the snow off my own garden pathway, or the municipal pathway in front of my house.
Conceivably, some guy could come up my path meaning to break into my house, slip on his ass, and successfully sue me!

Elsewhere
I don't know about other states, but here in Texas, if someone is trespassing in your residence you can "encourage" them to leave with a firearm.
