My psychiatrist wanted to know why I left the JW's.
I told him about the Faithful & Discreet Slave Doctrine and how I'd begun to view it as a blasphemous ururping of Jesus Christ's position.
He was amazed and indignant that a religion would teach such a thing.
LOL.
At Wal-Mart, I sat on a bench next to a friendly gentleman.
We struck up a conversation that somehow veered to religion.
I mentioned that I left the JW's because they dishonor Jesus of Nazareth by giving undue honor and adulation to the so-called "slave class."
Well, he let me know that he IS a JW! I knew he seemed vaguely familiar. As it turned out, when I was still in, his brother had given a talk at our KH.
I didn't apologize for or back down from my statement.
He admitted that he, too, found that and some other teachings very troubling.
I submit that there are a lot of JW's that are not serene with the WT scene.
The Tower is crumbling, brick by brick.

Yep, talk with an individual JW where there are no elders, and no possibility of "2 witnesses" hearing what they say, and you may well get some surprising answers.

If I may share a conclusion of mine....
It doesn't matter how much doubt or hidden anger or confusion a person has inside the Organization. Why? Because they don't have anyplace ELSE to go.
My own former best friend in the whole wide world (yes, EX-BEST) stated plainly to me: "Okay, you tell me, if I leave the Kingdom Hall forever where am I supposed to go that doesn't believe in hell, the immortality of the soul, the Trinity, celebrating pagan rituals.....etc...?"
The rest of the world has been made radioactive for JW's! No matter how bad it seems inside the Kingdom Hall, their geiger counters don't tick very loud.

I have to agree with Terry,
So many truly believe that have nowhere else to go, they can't fathom NOT having someone telling them, "this is how it is".
