LOL @ Terry's and PSac's banter.
I agree to a point.
However, all it takes is one Rosa Parks, and WT will be history.

I don't know Syl, deep down the people that Rosa "freed" wanted to be free.
That isn't the case with JW's.
It takes a very special person to be a devoted JW- someone that wants their life ( this one and the next) controlled and dicted to by a small goup of men.
Someone that is willing to be told rather than find out for themselves, about God, Christ and Salvation.
Someone that would rather stay put in the midst of what is wrong then have the sole responsibility of making a change.
Someone that has the mindset of, I am right and the rest of the world is wrong.
People like that...they don't leave unless something major compells them.
Not highjacking the thread (I hope) but, I recently watched an interview in a documentary where a friend of hers told that Rosa Parks was already part of a
group of community organizers who were looking for ways to gain public sympathy for the plight of blacks.
That put a different perspective on things vis a vis the "story" of Rosa Parks. Know what I mean?
Back to our regularly scheduled program........
deep down the people that Rosa "freed" wanted to be free.
Oh, she had her detractors, believe you me.
However, she provided the spark that flamed an already smoldering resentment into a raging fire.
We shall see if something similar happens to WT.
I detect an uneasy undercurrent that is flowing through the ranks.
Syl
Oh yeah, Terry.
She'd attended a school in WV? that taught non-violent resistance.
However, on that particular day, I think she'd just had enough, period.
I see that day coming for WT. I really do.

Why would someone have to "go somewhere else"? There is no true church, as in building or group. Claiming to be the only true group is a method of control used by cults, whether mainstream church, mosque, or small, obscure, unique group. They're all just cults of various sizes all claiming exclusivity.
If Jesus is present wherever 2 or more are gathered in his name, just trust that someone else in the Kingdom Hall is there for Jesus. If you're alone, all the more blessed you'll be for being outstanding among your peers. Jesus told us we could recognize his followers by their love; not their doctrine.
I have to agree with Terry,
Me too..
A good friend is a veterinarian. He thinks the teaching on blood is as insane as anybody here does. Yet he stays
You know that it may be:
I see this from my family, they were never into going to church or being part of a church, but they are into tha now as JW's.
So that is what they have seen and they tell me how their congregation doe sthis and that and the love and fellowship and that you don't find that outside of the JW's.
Of course they don't they don't go anywhere else and they never did before.
When I tell them of what the local church did for this and that, how they volunteer at the food banks, they feed the hungry, volunteer at hospitals and so forth, I just get the "blank and vacant" look...
I met an old JW friend in the street just a few minutes ago, we talked pleasantly for a few minutes, and then we somehow got on to "How long God has allowed things to continue" , I was able to say a bit, and leave him, as he scuttled off, wrestling with the dichotomy of a"Loving" God and the problem of Evil.
Sowing, sowing, wherever we can, that's us, 'coz we're 'poztate man !
